Juicy Burgers, lovely service, and Amazing Atmosphere 12/2/2007

There are not alot of places that you can get a combo of such wonder food and service. I was blown away when I took the first bite into my burger, it was so juicy, plump, and prepared wonderfully. It is an assemble-your-self burger, ya know, so all the stuff is on the side. WOW.. Just amazing. The service was great also, when they messed up on my side order, they prompting retrieved me the correct one and apologized for the inconviences. I actually got to talk with the staff, and it gave the place a more homely atmosphere. It wasn't another resturant where I was just a customer, I was some one of intersts here. And how can you not like the atmosphere. They have the Beatles and other amazing album covers, magazine cut outs, and pictures. It's comforting to know that the music legends of the past won't die out because of such a place like this. Pros: Service, Food, Ambience is Nice Cons: A little smokey when it is really busy more

Yummy Burgers and Service is Adoring. 12/2/2007

I love Abbey Road, it's one of my favorite places to eat. The food is so good and unique plus they have more than just burgers. The walls are covered with so many records and posters from the past it's like leaving the 21st century for a little bit. I also love the people there, they are so nice, funny, and down to earth. My burger once wasn't cook enough for my tastes but they fixed it so fast and were so nice about it, that it wasn't that big of a deal. Abbey Road is def. my pick for a good, relaxed bite to eat. Pros: Beer List, Good Burgers, Nice People Cons: some smoke on busy nights more

Best Burgers No More 11/30/2007

At one time Abby Road really did cook some of the best burgers in town. Our service and food was below the standard of the Abby Road I used to enjoy. more

Good burgers, poor atmosphere and wait staff 8/30/2007

I really give this restaurant a 3.5. The food is really quite good. But the atmosphere isn't what it is cracked up to be, and the service isn't very good. It looks like an old gas station and the 'oodles of Beatles memorobelia' is an odd collection of album covers and posters of various artists taked to the walls. The wait staff isn't rude, but they could be a little nicer. Food takes forever to get there, and don't be surprised if people who come in after you get served first. It happened to us, which is most disconcerting. And, don't ever expect any apology or even empathy. So, 3.5 stars seems about right. It is above average because of the food. But the atmosphere and wait staff leave you a little cold. Pros: Good food Cons: Poor atmosphere and wait staff more

best fish & chips 8/28/2007

Maybe I'm the only guy who cares but good fish & chips are hard to find. I've been to plenty of Irish Pubs/Restaurants that couldn't deliver on what I would think would be a staple. This is THE place for fish & chips. Pros: comfortable atmosphere Cons: there's a concert poster for Frank Zappa, admission $2.00, Wish I could see that today. more

Not bad burgers 8/25/2007

We were expecting alot since it was listed as top 10 best burgers in the triangle area, so was relatively disappointed. The decor was ok...was expecting more beatles paraphernelia. Burgers were not bad. Huge, but kinda dry. Bun was cold and could have been toasted (like Fuddruckers). Price was very reasonable though. Pros: Price, good friendly service Cons: Average burgers more

best burgers 8/13/2007

great food!! best burgers around for less price!! the service was great - not a long wait at all. great atmosphere for all beatles lovers! the memorabilia is cool and fun to eat around. the menu is great and theres something for everyone. burgers, salads, pitas- all great! and the names of the menu items all tie into the beatles them- definitely fun for sure Pros: burgers and atmosphere Cons: none really more

Best burger, best service!!! 8/6/2007

This was by far the best burger I've had in the triangle!!!! Cooked to perfection, very moist! Really worth the wait, 10 ounce burgers take time to cook the way you really want it. The bun was fresh and tasty! Fresh bun from Roma's and an awesome burger from Abbey Road. What could be better? I suggest trying the ""Paul"" burger, blackened 10 ounce burger topped with Bleu Cheese crumbles and a side of handcut, homemade beer-battered onion rings! And don't forget to order a side of Ranch for dipping. Yummy! Next time I'll try the ""Ringo"" burger. I can't wait for my next Abbey Road experience. The service was prompt and very friendly, I felt like I've been a regular forever. Laidback and fun, with old album covers and other reminders of my youth plastered all over the walls. My family was also very pleased, my 10 year old son ordered a kids cheeseburger and could only eat half. Huge, yummy burgers and great service with a smile at a price anyone can afford. Don't waste your time at ""cheeseburger, cheeseburger"" or ""5 Guys""! I have found my ""burger joint""!!!! Thank you, Abbey Road! Enjoy!! Pros: The Burgers and service! Cons: ???? more

best burger anywhere 8/4/2007

This is by far the best burger I have ever had. A great value for the price. The burger was moist but not at all greasy. The service was friendly and more than adequate. We sat in the no smoking section and did not notice a trace of smoke, although the restaurant was not very busy when we were there. I would definitely go back again, take friends, and recommend it to others. more

Horrible visit, hair in appetizer, Burgers raw inside. Last visit for me. 7/22/2007

Horrible visit. The cheese fries we ordered as an appetizer had hair in them. The waitress brought us a clean plate without hair, but that's all she did. 3 of 4 in our party ordered burgers cooked medium. They were so raw inside it was disgusting. We sent the bugers, that had bites out of them and had been cut in half back, thinking they would cook us new ones to the proper degree. They brought us back the same partially eaten burgers, but put the wrong ones on each bun. Mine now had mayo on it , which I can't stand and my daughters had pickles that she didn't put on during their first visit. The waitress was somewhat apologetic, but not able to offer much real relief. I left totally grossed out, never to return. I will say that I have had a decent burger there years ago, but I will not take another chance on them after my recent visit.. more

Great Burgers, near best. Extremely friendly service on the restaurant side 7/19/2007

A small group of myself and coworkers have been frequenting Abbey Road for the last six times since March 2007. We always get appetizers and burgers. Tasty mild wings, big mozzarella sticks, and even bigger Cheese Burgers ( I order the ""John"") with cheese fries. I can only eat half the burger it's that big (10 oz.). The service is constant and extremly friendly with no empty glasses. There was at least two girls serving our table one night. There's no smoke in the air on that side of the restaurant, especially early evening. The place has been spruced up with fresh paint and more decor. Planning to go back again & again. Pros: Food, Service, Food Cons: Small Dining area more

Great burger, horrible service 7/2/2007

Burgers are always good, but the service is hit-or-miss (mostly miss). Even if you are sitting at the bar, the bar tender is more interested in playing the bar game than serving customers. I can't imagine how bad the service is in the new dining room.\r If the service was A LITTLE better, it would get 5 stars. Pros: Burgers Cons: Service more

NOT the Best Burgers in town! 5/4/2007

Like some of the other reviewers, I don't think these are even close to the best in town. And the place is filled with smoke even on the non-smoking side. The burgers at Chargrill or Five Guys are better and there isn't the smoke filled bar atmosphere. We went with a large group of teenagers - obviously, they have a bit of experience on this topic. The burgers were burnt on the outside and a bit raw on the inside. Too high a heat I guess. The service was very friendly and the food came out pretty quick - but the place was virtually empty when we were there so I don't know what's it's like when it is busy. The chicken wrap with vegetables that one person ordered was very good according to them and worth another trip - but for take out only. Pros: good chicken wrap Cons: smoke filled rooms with fans blowing it around more

Best Burgers Ever 4/27/2007

The first time I went to Abbey Road was in 2005. When I pulled with my friends I was a little apprehensive considering it used to be a gas station. Nonetheless, when I walked and saw the inside and the friendly staff I was relieved. The service was prompt, wait staff very friendly and its the best burger that I have ever had in my life. Its pure 100% Angus Beef and you can tell. The burgers are made fresh and to order and the cheese fries are to die for. All I have to say is if you love burgers, realy burgers please go to Abbey Road Grill. You won't be sorry or disappointed. Pros: The burgers are the best ever Cons: Parking can be an issue on a busy Friday night more

Good if you catch an on night, horrible if you catch an off night 4/6/2007

My wife and I had become fans of this place until the last time that we went there. The last time, the service was poor, the food was not as good as it had been in the past, and I wasn't quite comfortable. The owner or somebody in an official position was running around in a t-shirt and jeans with his butt hanging out taking people's orders. Then, when I got my medium well burger, there was a red substance that's associated with the heart (the word for this substance is blocked by citysearch's filters!) on my plate by the fries. That bothered me a little bit. However, the thing that put me off the most was that the food was mediocre at best on that visit. It's a shame too, because I've been here before when the food has been great and the service has been reasonable. Inconsistencies to this level are very hard to excuse though and I won't go back for quite some time, if ever. Pros: Lots of Nostalgic Memorabilia, Classic Rock Cons: Inconsistent Service more

The best burger in the triangle, hands down!!!! 11/8/2006

i am one of the pickiest diners in the triangle, and i couldn't even find anything wrong with this place. I had the lucy burger. it was $6.99 with a side of the best onion rings i've ever had. fresh red onion rings, lightly battered and fried to perfection. they get a little tough when they get cold, so eat the rings first, and then eat the burger, because the 10 oz. freshly ground c.a.b. burger will hold its heat for the 2 minutes it takes one to eat the heaping mound of fried utopia. they grind the beef on premises, so you can order your patty still ""moo""ing if that's what you prefer. this place completely took me by surprise... i was going to a bar where i usually meet my buddy, and on the way, i suggested we eat at abby road grille. i'm sorry to say, i think this might have to be my new bar... at least when i'm hungry. A diamond in the ""rough"" of mediocre cary establishments. Also, try the chili.... probably they best you can get at a restaurant... so meaty. Pros: great burgers, chili, fries, o-rings more

The Friendliest Staff Around 10/2/2006

I love Abbey Road. I probably eat there 5-6 times a month. The food is simple, inexpensive and plentiful. The atmosphere is extremelylrelaxed. The wait staff is very friendly and the few times I have ever had to wait more than 5 minutes for a table, the waitress (who pretty much knows me) brought me a glass of wine. You don't see that kind of friendliness at a chain restaurant. I have recommended AR to a number of friends and everyone loves to go hang out at ""The Road"" because it is such a friendly and homey atmosphere! more

Great Place!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 6/5/2006

I met some friends the other night and we had a great time. The waitstaff and food were great. I would highly recommend this place for anyone looking to have a fun evening out. more

Don't be misled 4/17/2006

Went there with my wife. We both wanted a good burger. Don't know who was in the contest for best burger, but it seems to me there couldn't have been many/any other entries. Yes, it's a larger than average burger, but service was inattentive and the food cold. The onion rings would better be described as fried batter with a little onion. My wife liked it even less. Some of the other comments refer to the place as smokey. This is accurate. There's no noticable/effective air cleaner, just ceiling fans turned up high, which spreads the smoke to the whole bar. We went there based on the other reviews. I wonder if how they came by those glowing reviews (maybe you've heard of professional reviewers, who write reviews to get ratings up on a sites like this one?). After eating there, you will wonder about those other reviews too. Pros: local to cary, serves liquor, good parking Cons: poor quality food, poor service more

Great food in a small bar atmosphere. 2/8/2006

I've been going to Abbey Road for years, and the food really is great. This is perfect Americana, with the burger well-earning its reputation. The dated decor makes it seem like home throughout four decades in a dimly-lit, fairly small space. If you have issues with smoke, be warned that the non-smoking section isn't really distanced from the actual barside, and it can get smoky. Also, there are only a couple of bathrooms, and the weekends can be populated with over-indulgers. Brings the kids in the early afternoon, or on weeknights. Pros: Great food, Affordable, Good parking Cons: Smoky, Limited restrooms, Occasional Drunks more
