not that bad 1/7/2011

I've read the remarks made about Abbey church Village, and I didn't think it was nice of the person who made remarks about the property manager or any of the staff. I've been living here for 3 yrs and they've all been so sweet. The maintenance crew is on top of things as far as I'm concerned and they are very nice guys also and very hard workers. The property managers husband works his regular shift during the day and in the winter he's plowing the driveways all times of the night, whenever the snow hits he's on it. I don't see how anyone could complain, I've never lived in a better kept place in my life. Especially a place that does in fact have subsidized tenants. And although there are people from other countries, they are all so nice to me. Yes, the walls are thin and yes..the rent has increased from $550 to $655 since i moved in 3 yrs ago. Don't know how much more of that i can take. And i will agree, it's annoying to have to give up all your personal information, every year, bank account and all. I'm a single parent and when i moved in they asked me if my daughter's father would be living with me in the future? Now that i thought was going too far...because, if he did that would be my business as long as i report it. I was really excited when i first moved in because it's a nice place in the best school district. But, i'm running out of space, and they do have one simple rule i don't understand it, but you can't move into a bigger unit unless your family size increases...NEVER heard of that in my life. but all in all i'm happy here And they have treated me very good and took care of all of my request right away!! more

Terrible Place To Live 5/5/2010

Some People have to live at Abbey because it is the only place they think they can afford. I have lived at Abbey for 7 years and am going to move because the place is becoming unsafe for females and the property is going downhill.\r \r First, the property manager lies. If you don't get things in writting you are screwed. \r \r Second, the property manager does not hold everyone to the lease. 2 people could do the same thing wrong but only 1 will get a nasty letter. She plays favorites. \r \r Third, the property manager lets some people pay rent late and never charges them a late fee or evicts them. \r \r Fourth, the property manager charges between $20-30 to replace a mini blind when they can be replaced for $5. She charges $2 for each slat on the vertical blinds. Cheap Blinds!\r \r Fifth, Rent is being raised way to much. The property manager says she does not have control over it but she does. Any questions call the Ohio Housing Finance Agency.\r They would not have to raise the rent, as much, if they did not waste money on fertilizing the weeds (grass) and sending notices out, every month, on fire safety.\r Like we are in first grade (stop, drop and roll).\r \r Sixth, the office is closed alot. The property manager and her assistant take a 3 hour lunch. They could do without. The property manager stomach hangs past her knees and her assistant is not to far behind.\r \r Seventh, If you leave a message, for the property manager, chances are her assistant did not pass it on. \r \r Eight, the property has a peeping Tom.\r \r Ninth, the maintanence men don't know how to repair things. They think they do but they don't. They do a half *** job. When they plow the snow they leave piles behind your cars. \r \r Tenth, Parents let there kids run wild, climb all over cars, ride there bikes into cars, scratch cars, rip branches off trees and destroy peoples property.\r \r \r Abbey Church Village is not the place it used to be. Pros: Nothing Cons: Everything, Property Manager more

A great place to be 10/5/2009

Most people these days have to work several jobs to make ends meet. And try to find a better place to live in Dublin for $650 for a two bedroom apartment. And there is no possable way that utilities run $150. The walls are double walled for fire retention and if you hear things from your neighbors thats normal, because you live in an apartment. All maintenance issues are done within 24 hrs and done properly. All units recieve new carpet after a 7 year cycle unless they are dammaged beyond repair. You also have to understand that this is a FAMILY property, children have to play outdoors. The reason for management sending out letters is to keep the property looking nice, do you want your home to look nice ? The reason for the skunk traps is due to residents who think its ok to feed wild animals that could possably injure residents. Its managements responsability to protect the residents. And where you get the idea that there are gangs here, that is the most rediculous thing ive ever heard. The reason for a resident to post a lie about a property because there angry due to the state has raised the rent on a property that is controlled by the state. If you cant understand that then you need to move out and move to the gehtto of the city of New York Pros: beautiful place to live Cons: ghn76 more

Do not move here. 9/7/2009

Abbey Church Village used to be a great place to live but not anymore! \r I have lived here for about 13 years- single parent. I work several jobs and could never qualify for any assistance. Rent increase just got many of us here-now over $650.00month for a two bedroom. We have to pay heat and electric also $150.00 approx. Dont know why they need ALL of our financial information because supposedly it is not subsidized. \r Walls are thin. Maintenance is shoddy. My carpet has never been replaced after 13 years and it was a fight to get the place painted. Office letters come out constantly asking parents to keep their children out of the streets and to keep areas looking nice. The spelling in the letters is horrific- supposedly a professional place. Skunk traps are placed around the property because of the skunk/animal problem. Cars are constantly being damaged by children riding bikes through the parking lots. Just a bad place to be anymore unless you are subsidized somehow. I think that is the way they are moving here anymore. Pros: close to shopping...and gangs Cons: close to shopping and gangs more

whiners 3/16/2009

This property is a wonderful place to live. The management staff are very attentive to your needs and the maintenance staff are very professional. Several residents who live here are whiners, as in if I dont get my special treatment im going to cry. I have never had a single problem since iv'e lived here ( 11 Years ). And I have never been more happy. Our maintenance people are very talented and very nice to me and my neighbors. I could'nt ask for anything better. I don't know what these people are talking about, terrible service, poor maintenance and dirty. The snow removal is on time and done right, the grounds are allways clean and in the summer time this place is beautiful. Pros: beautiful property Cons: people who whine & dont get their way more

check yourself where ou at???? 11/7/2008

no one wants to live in a community where there are dirty people, but the bottom line is that I am an american--born and raised, but there is no need for you to call people lazy and dirty foreigners, and to speak on women who you think are laying on their backs popping out babies. Check yourself and where you are at in your life-- How long have you been living there? Who lives in an apartment for that long? and if you are so much better than the people you share your community with, why are you still there? Check yourself before you get on the internet and show how stupid you really are- DUMMY! NOw let us see your comeback on the truth stupid. Pros: location Cons: location more

Dont move to abbey church village 3/7/2007

Abbey's manager is a ""very large"" woman who lives 40 feet from the office but drives to work. Her side kick in the office is rude and lazy. They play favorites, and do nothing about the problems on the property. The grouchy REPUB, does nothing to make this a nice neighborhood. So I dont know why repub is complaining about foreigners, when they are nicer than REPUB. This is not a good place to live. Maitenence men do nothing and if they do it takes them weeks, the snow removal is horrible because it doesnt exist. AND BY THE WAY, THERE IS NO HANDICAPP PARKING AVAILABLE IN OUR PARKING LOT BECAUSE SOME OLD LADY IS ALWAYS PARKED THERE. \r \r And you dont want to move here if you dont like your friends and families car being towed ALL THE TIME, even if they are in visitors spot, because this is the worst knock-off-desperate-housewives neighborhood that I have ever seen. Your neighbors will know what color your feces are before you do.\r \r Thank you and have a nice life (if you dont move here) Pros: NOTHING Cons: EVERYTHING more

You get what you pay for 2/26/2007

It is often difficult to be objective when things have not been exactly to your liking. However, I will try to be as objective as I can. My family and I are moving out of Abbey Church Village not because it was poorly managed, on the contrary, but because a better opportunity presented itself. Our experience was not horrible but not fantastic either. For example: The neighbors are often inconsiderate. Doors are slammed at 5:00 in the morning or kids are running on the stairs at first light. Kids play in the drive way and refuse to move for approaching cars. I think the idea of digging through trash to see who is leaving it on the ground is an unsavory practice for any business regardless of your intent. Overall, the residence is adequately managed to suit its intended purpose. The grounds were kept clean (for the most part) and management responded to any problems that came up. Would I recommend Abbey Church Village? It really depends on what you are looking for and your economic situation. This is more about getting what you pay for than it is about a true living experience. Most of the residents have no intention or lack the ability to leave. The apartments are too small for a family and yet somehow many still live there. If you need a roof over your head for a little while, then yes, I would recommend this apartment complex. If you are looking for a permanent residence, then no, keep looking. Pros: it is close to many features of the city without being in the city Cons: there are a lot of people that are unfamiliar or unliking of American culture. more

Great place to learn about life.... 1/22/2007

That other review must be from a dirty foreigner because I have lived here for over 6 years and have had no trouble. No ants unless you are dirty and do not clean up after yourself- of course that would happen anywhere. Maintenance is sloppy, but they are quick for emergencies. Most is subsidized housing for Somali's who live 14 to a unit and get away with it, Section 8 lazies, or women who can't keep their legs crossed and pop out babies like gumballs. Lots of shopping nearby and most neighbors are friendly. Kids run wild and unsupervised, but do get in trouble by management. Lots of garbage dropped off in dumpsters by outside sources and many lazy dwellers here leave their garbage outside the dumpsters when they are full rather than walking a few feet to the next available dumpster. I believe that is what the other reviewer was talking about when being charged for dumping. Management will go through the garbage left outside the containers to find out who left it and will charge them a fee for being too freakin lazy to walk to the next dumpster. As far as handicap parking.. if you have a valid handicap sticker then you would be able to park in the handicap parking which is abundant. \r Build the fence and stop allowing foreigners in this country!! Pros: Location, price, parking Cons: full of dirty foreigners popping out babies on our welfare system more

Poor service 4/27/2006

I have been a resident for nearly 10 years. I requested a hanicap and was denied. Now I can't even park in the same spot. Mine you I have parked their for nearly 10 years. Now their is a family who as six cars. They park down in our area leaving us with no where to park. Plus I was charge for bulk trash which I feel is unfair. They need a dumbster just for bulk trash. Plus I thought someone would want a computer desk. I have ants really bad I have reported it several times. And have spent more money on bug spray. I am very clean and they are even in and on my stove. After living here for over 10 years. I hope they get better mangement someday. This use to be a nice family place to live. Trust me. Pros: poor parking Cons: good maintence servic more
