I have eaten in Athens Cafe since it was opened and found the food to be very good. We have always have good service as well. Athens is now serving breakfast and about 1 month ago we tried it for breakfast and it also did a good job for breakfast, which is why I am so taken back for the treatment we received on Thur. 8-31-06. I ordered the same greek omelet that I had the time before, which I liked very much. So on this visit when my omelet came and I took a bite I knew immediately that something was wrong. I knew that the meat did not taste right. I immediately got the server and told her the problem. Well, she takes it back to the kitchen and then comes the chef (and could be owner). He asked me what the problem was and I told him that the meat wasn't right. He very rudely answered it was the taste of the feta cheese. I told him no, it was the meat. Well, with that he picked up my plate and took it over the dirty dish bens and threw my plate in the ben. He never asked what I would like in place of my order. Now, there are 3 other people with me and their food is fine. The server came by and asked if everything was o.k. and I said, no. I didn't have anything to eat. She asked what I wanted so I told her I would have what my husband was having, which was eggs, potatoes & biscut. A few minutes later the same chef came out and almost threw the plate on the table with only 2 eggs. I asked where the rest of the food was and he said I didn't ask for that. I don't know if it is policy to treat people in this manner when there is a problem wiht the food but it is the first time I have ever been treated this way in a restaurant when there was a problem with the food. I would not recommend this restaurant on this alone. As I stated earlier, I have been going there for a long time and this was a first and last for me. I know what spoiled meat taste like. No adjustment either just a very bad attitude.
Cons: Management has hostel attitude toward customer if something is wrong.
