A Great Experience 3/22/2011

I have had electrolysis done in the past but was not happy with the places. Went to Marcy and she is great. She is always on time for appointments and does a great job. I was having problems with redness and bumps, but with Marcy I have none of those problems. A great experience. more

Marcy's the best 7/15/2010

I've been using Marcy to remove unwanted facial hair and I'm almost done! The results are amazing - no more tweezing, dilapitories or waxing for me! Marcy is very professional and very personable as well. I highly recommend her!! Pros: Professional/ great results Cons: It hurts a little more

Why did I wait so long?? 8/3/2009

After a decade of tweezing, I decided it was finally time to deal with some coarse chin hairs and made an appt to see Marcy. After testing a few hairs with a trial treatment (to check my pain tolerance), I decided to go ahead with it. At first, I was there once a week... which amounted to the same time I was wasting tweezing! Now, 4 months later, I see Marcy every 2-3 weeks for less than 30 minutes! I feel like my facial hair is always "cleaned up" now since the new hairs that are growing in are less coarse and less visible. I wish I'd done this YEARS ago! Don't put it off any longer!!! Professional Electrolysis 10/15/2008

I was skeptical at first but Marcy Shefler has done a great job of removing my unwanted facial hair. She alleviated my initial fears and was patient answering all of my questions, explaining the entire process. She always acts professionally and I highly recommend her to all of my friends. more

The best money I've spent in a looooong time! 10/3/2008

I asked a good friend about her perfectly shaped eyebrows; she directed me to A Permanent Effect. I am surprised and thrilled with the end result of visits to Marcy Shefler. It took a lot of courage for me to explore the possiblity of electrolysis; Marcy put me at ease with her gracious and professional approach. She is a clear communicator as well as a skilled technician. Unwanted hair is permanently gone and my skin in healthier. Marcy's office is easy to get to and is comfortable, quiet, and private. I recommend Marcy to anyone who wants freedom from tweezing or waxing. more

Great Hair Removal 9/20/2008

As a working mom of two small children the last thing I need is to be bothered by having to remove unwanted hair. Electrolysis is the best thing in the world...and so is Marcy's ability to remove hair quickly!! She's fast, accomadating and precise. My eyebrows are PERFECT. Everywhere I go, I am constantly complimented on my eyebrows. I could just smile and say thank you, but from one woman to another, I feel compelled to tell my story. That story is Marcy. All electrolysists are not the same. Give her a try, you'll ask yourself over and over why you didnt do this sooner. more

I highly recommend A Permanent Effect Electrolysis as Marcy Shefler provides care and professional services to all of her clients. She is up front and honest about her services, and is very gentle when performing electrolysis. Many of my friends use her services as well, and we are all pleased with the results. Best Electrolysis on the North Shore 8/28/2008

Having never stepped foot into an electrolysis office before, I wasn't quite sure what to expect. Well, expect the unexpected! A relaxing room, never to hot or cold, a relaxing reclining chair, no doctor office smell - just perfect. Marcy is very calming and relaxing, and has a skill that only comes from natural talent as well as a lot of experience. I highly recommend her and have told all of my friends about her! I'm from the Schaumburg area and was referred to Marcy by a friend I met at college. The short commute is definitely worth the very precise and professional service. The price is very affordable, and I would not trust anyone else with my eyebrows. Marcey is very careful with your face when doing electrolysis which is extremely important. She also has convenient hours and is very pleasant to work with.
