I lived in texas for 2 years. Last April I went down to visit my daughter. While being there my rental car had gotten towed by AJ's we didn't know we needed a visitors pass. I too like so many others thought the car had been stolen from the complex that she lived at. We called the police and then were told where the car was. Upon going there and waiting for the driver to show up ( which he did half an hour late) He had another vehicle on the back a white pickup truck. The tow truck was backing it in and the pickup got loose of the tow truck and headed right for me and the rental. The driver and my daughter yelled for me to get out of the way. I thought I could prevent the crash hahhahhaha... YEah ok...... The driver kept apologising to me and would not give me his information. He told me to go to the office and take care of it. This was a Saturday afternoon by the time I got my rental back..... We went back there three times in the next three days. We filed a report and all for them to just not even bother to pay the claim..... WTF!!!!!!!! Now My insurance company is going after them.... Hahahaha yeah they will be getting sued right quick. Perhaps I need to come back to Dallas and take care of it with the police busting them... They are theives I don't care if they have random people who are probably related to the drivers writing they are fair.... Hell no they are anything but Fair..... Funny how they can take everyones money in a rush but yet won't fix what their drivers damage!!! HOW CAN THE CITY OF DALLAS NOT CARE FOR THE PEOPLE THAT LIVE THERE AND DO BUSINESS THERE!!!! THEY ARE ALLOWING THESE DEGENERATES TO RIP OFF THE CONSUMERS.... OH BUT DON'T PAY YOUR TAXES AND HOLY S**t THEY ARE AT YOUR DOOR TO COLLECT!!!!!!!! IT'S ABOUT TIME SOMEONE PUT THESE THEIVES OUT OF BUSINESS FOR GOOD AND MAKE THEM PAY FOR THE DAMAGES THEY HAVE DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! more

Very recently we were patrons of a business in the Kroger Plaza on Camp Wisdom Rd in Duncanville, TX. The employee directed us where to park our vehicle. Upon our arrival 2 days later, the vehicle was gone. You will never believe what happened to it. AJ Towing towed it. Upon our explanation of why it Budget's lot, Wanda simply wasn't buying it. When I asked who called in the tow order, she would not tell me. When I called Budget, they were in shock. I called the property manager, he was in shock. After speaking with the owners representative it seems AJ's does not have a current contract to tow from that lot. My suggestion to everyone taken by these thieves is to report them just like mentioned before. My personal suggestion is to follow my lead. We are building a case of Grand Theft. In addition, after paying the ransom, we hired a very expensive Dallas Attorney. Because of an act called Conversion, not only will we prevail winning 3 times cost and related damages, there is a very high certainty they will be covering the cost of my actions to recover losses. That includes of course my flight, lodging and related travel expenses, not to mention again the cost of our attorney. Did I mention that he is not cheap. The only way to get back at slime like this is to attack their wallets. If you are not fortunate enough to hire a very expensive attorney, show a few of them these blogs. I would bet you can get one to take it on contingency. Of course you can not forget to report them to every state agency possible. I agree with everyone that had something bad to say. This company tried to pick up my boyfriends semi and he came up and had to pay them $575.00 to keep them from towing his truck to their company's location. I explained to them that they didn't have a sign posted within 25 feet of the pick up location. They stated that they could pick the truck up and basically it was pay $575.00 or $1206.00. I have taken pictures of the location and have filed a report with the TDLR AND will be filling one with the Attorney General. Its stated that they have to have two reports made annually to do something about this company. Well I've done one. What about You? We can get something done don't give up. First-timer here. First, Miss potty mouth, how do we know that you're not pockmarked wench working the front counter? You know, the one who likes to tell people "F*** You!" or to "get your a*s off my phone, bi*ch"? Two words for you: learn English. Or "Take grammar." As for AJ's...they su*k. They're frauds. Thieves, even. They towed my brother's car illegally (no signs anywhere in the parking lot). They demanded cash payment. They refused to give the police report number from the non-Dallas city from which they towed the car. Oh yes...that's illegal too; they broke the law by taking a car from Carollton to Dallas, 20+ miles away. Talk about a jacked-up mileage fee! They cussed out the three of us who each called trying get information, as well. And that "police report"? Carrollton PD has NO information about the tow. None. We plan on reporting AJ's to the Denton County JP (Carrollton's in Denton County), as well as to the Dallas County JP, DA, the TDLR, who issues their licenses, and to the TX Attorney General's Office. AJ's is a bunch of crooks with holier-than-thou attitudes who feel they are above the law, who steal from their customers (see the May 10, 2008 Dallas Morning News article about that one) and who flaunt their crimes in front of a DPD that won't even take much action. Until every citizen becomes aware of his/her rights and takes action in municipal court, the state cannot close them down, as they have a criterion of ___ amount of reports (I hear it's two annually)that must be filed by citizens before they can take any action. Yes, they su*k. Big ones, at that. And QuitBit*hin's not far behind. (How'd you get that name to slip past the censorship radar here, any way?) Pros: None. Cons: They steal. They defraud. well i know that yall all keep bitching about AJ's towing but the reason why there not close down is becaus dee ta dee there doing every thing legally and by the book and how the law says to do it and a tow company can store a car in a different city than it was towed and if there is any damage to your car THEY DIDN'T DO IT so quit lieing and blowing smoke peoples asses and i rate this a very good tow company. They are operating illegally telling people they only accept cash and do not give change! State law says that any operater of a storage company must accept electronic checks, debit cards or credit cards. They also refuse to give the name of their drivers or the tow truck numbers saying not all their vehicles have numbers. State law also says they must have numbers visible on the side of the tow trucks. Also I have heard that they filed bankruptcy to avoid paying $30,000 in judgements to the city of dallas and AJ wrecker inc no longer exist making tows illegal. Also state law says they have to store vehicles towed in the same city it is towed from so since they are towing to a lot in Mesquite that is also illegal. Everyone effected should go to the garland city attorney and file a complaint!! I have contacted the Mayors of both Garland and Mesquite. Garland's mayor responded saying he would have someone check into it. I also emailed Ross' corporate office and some news medias. I would also urge you all to do the same. I happen to be one of the lucky ones, my vehicle wasn't towed I just dont like seeing this kind of injustice. I think they are targeting the minority hispanic that are the majority of the patrons of that Ross store. Also FYI the property owner is the same as the property owner of Ross so I feel that Ross has atleast a moral obligation to warn their customers. They really should contact the owner of their building and work something out for their customers. I was in there for 2 hrs saturday and they did not make an anouncement. I ask a manager about puting signs on the door and I was told they are not liable, its not their responsiblity. I ask about making anouncements and was told they made one that morning, I was there at 6 pm! more

DO NOT PARK YOUR VECHILE ON THE EMPTY LOT NEXT TO ROSS DRESS FOR LESS {THE OLD KROGERS} AJ WRECKER SERVICE DOES A QUICK HOOKUP AND HAULS THEM AWAY QUICKERS THAN YOU CAN BLINK AN EYE! I WAS PARKED NEXT TO A VECHILE THAT AN OLDER WOMAN AND HER GRANDCHILDREN GOT OUT OF {I OF THEM WAS IN A WHEELCHAIR} AND THEY WENT INTO ROSS TO SHOP, AJ'S GIVES NO NOTICE AND TOOK THIER VEHICLE, WHEN THE WOMAN AND KIDS CAME OUT OF ROSS THEY HAD THOUGHT THIER VEHICLE GOT STOLEN, WHICH IT DID BY AJ'S WRECKER SERVICE!!!! THIS BUSINESS IS A BAD BUSINESS AND THE OWNER OF THE PARKING LOT IS HAVING THIS DONE, SO IF HE EVER RENTS OUT HIS BUILDING AGAIN {WHICH I DOUBT HE WILL} I WOULDN'T STEP FOOT ON HIS PROBERTY AND SPEND MY MONEY THERE!!! I agree with the previous reviews. I looked out our store window to find our company pickup truck being towed by A J Wrecker! Luckily, I was able to wave the driver down and stop him. He told me the truck was ticketed "by him" because it had not moved in a week...which was not true. We had the truck in for repairs earlier that week. The driver was very rude when I told him he was illegally towing our truck. We use the pick up truck for our business. I think the City of Richardson should ban this company from operating in our area. more

Please do not use this tow service; they have bad practices and clearly only think about the fine payment they will receive from you when you pick up your car. I own a luxury SUV with all wheel drive and AJ's ripped my car from a parking lot where I was a patron. They yanked my car from its spot and improperly hooked it up to their tow line, causing my front axel to break. Then, they dragged my car by the front wheels for tens of miles all the way to a bad neighborhood and broke the transfer case as well as many other expensive related parts of my car. My car had to be in the shop for 7 weeks. My life was actually endangered when I drove it home that night after picking it up from the tow company, because at the time I was unknowing of all the damaged they caused. When I called them the next day, they were completely rude to me and yelled at me on the phone, even though I was trying to be polite and find out information on how they towed my car. After hearing all the nightmare stories about this company, I do not understand how they are still in business. It is such a travesty that they daily go around causing thousands of dollars of damage to people's cars and get away with it! :-( Pros: none Cons: Bad service, rude employees, terrible neighborhood, disregard to property. more

AJ's Wrecker tows cars illegally all the time, and they frequently damage the cars that they tow. The fact that the City of Dallas hasn't put them out of business is an insult to its residents, and it makes the City of Dallas appear like they don't care about this serious problem. If you are looking for a towing company to hire, do not choose AJ Wrecker -- if you do, you are adding to their greed and to the chaos that this company brings to all people in Dallas. If you get towed by AJ's, I feel really sorry for you. Hopefully justice will come to them and all of their employees in the near future. Pros: NONE WHATSOEVER!! Cons: EVERYTHING!! more
