A Dam Good Bar & Grill

too many bad comments from what sounds like - bogus reviews of competators around the area....i'm the kind of person who likes to try things for myself before passing judgement.....and I did...and I was very impressed. I'm over the whole restaurant chain - Coral Springs, University Drive - kind'a thing. This place is differant. It's new and unconventional. Their menu is creative and fun! When we walked in, the bartender Lia was so friendly - she welcomed us with a big "hello" and invited us to come sit at her bar! We usually don't sit at the bar, but she was so nice and hospitable, we couldn't say no. She took the time to walk us through the menu and the bar, explaining her favorite items. Even though we were urged to 'share' we were stubborn and wanted to try what we could while we were there...so my husband ordered one and I ordered one and we were able to try two of the best grill cheese sandwiches I've ever had. I don't normally eat meat, so i was sugggested the Popeye's spinach pie - feta AND fresh mozzarella with lots of fresh sauteed vegetables, absolutely decadent! Jim, my husband had the Buffalo chicken one - it was enormous and filled to the brim with fresh fried buffalo chicken and blue cheese and their own hot sauce. Veryyyyy good. We had two 'hand made' cocktails that were fresh and not too sweet. And since they pour a double for standard drinks, one was enough for each of us! When we finished eating, we switched to the outside bar (since it was still quite hot) and were able to smoke and finish our drinks...it was a very laid back and relaxing atmosphere.\r \r All I'm saying - is you should try it and ignore the nasty comments posted so far....see for yourself and then make a judgement. The owner himself came over and spoke with us for at least 10minutes! What place can you go eat at that the owner goes around and introduces himself to EVERY customer there!!??? I usually never write reviews but this place is awesome! Went there today for lunch expecting a regular burger joint but wow ... the portions are HUGE and the price is even pretty great ($9 for a reuben grilled cheese that can easily feed two people). They also serve their beverages in mason jars which was really cool and the decor is really fun. The owner (I presume) even visited our table to make sure we were enjoying our meal and gave us cards for a free app. for the next time we visit! I will definitely be returning to this place!! The service was really awesome too! more

Went there with some friends as a last minute decision and what a great decision it was. Even though they have a limited menu after 11pm I LOVED the food. I've read some mixed reviews about this place but it seems to me that most of them are coming from bitter staff from the Ale House next door whose food I will admit doesn't come close to as good as this place. I am not employed by them and do not know them personally so this is a true and unsolicited review. My friends and I ordered the guacamole for an appetizer and it tasted so fresh, I actually thought the portion was small but only because it was so good and I just wanted more. The portion sizes of the meals were more then one could ask for. The quality of the food was fantastic! Of the two burgers and quesadilla's we ordered, all of which had their own unique flavor and were very good, hands down my favorite was the "break the fast" burger. I'm not even a burger person and I devoured this burger! This burger was so damn good that to put ketchup or mustard or anything on this burger would have taken away from its just about perfect flavor. The burger patty was great quality and so juicy. People have posted in their reviews that this place won't last and I have to say, if people just go and try the food, I don't see any reason why this place won't be a success. Everyone has a different pallet and I for one am a very picky eater so for me to speak so highly of something is a rarity but if you're the kind of person who likes to support local businesses, try something new and have a great meal then I would definitely recommend swinging by this place and trying the food. My personal suggestion would obviously be the "break the fast" burger which to me was more then just a burger. Anyone can write a review but if you're looking for someplace other then the usual just go try the food. If you don't like it then at least you can say you tried it but if you do like it you'll probobly add this place to your list of places to frequent. more

My wife and I stopped by today and sat at the bar...it was pretty dead, but we had Lea take care of us. She was great! She suggested the Pilgrim Grilled Cheese and also suggested we share it. Great idea it was huge! It was also delicious, one of the best grilled cheese I've ever had. The price you can't beat and you also get two sides which I think is a huge plus. She poured a mean jack and coke too! If you want a nice heavy pour at an affordable pride, check out A'dam Good! Atmosphere is real chill and laid back..we sat outside and had a great time despite the rain. I will be back !! more
