A Cut Above Carpentry

This company has done so many great things for me for 10 years now. They are able to do everything in my home from flooring, trim repair and replacement, painting, screen porch, deck repair, bathroom and kitchen remodeling, and more. Marty has even gone the extra mile so many times taking things to the dump for me, moving my furniture, and putting up my wall hangings. I don't know what I'd have done without them. They treat me as if I'm their only customer which I know I'm not. They are always busy but always make time for me which I greatly appreciate. I only wish I could have him here every day. more

I have been very pleased with the service performed by A Cut Above Carpentry on more than one occasion. During my last visit I had a multitude of repairs including electrical work (a new light fixture), painting, drywall repair, plumbing (a new faucet and pipe repair), and they even offered an idea for a spot in my home that I could not otherwise use. I now have a custom built shelving unit in that area which I am thrilled with! They are always busy, but seem to make time for me no matter what. I like the small town that I live in, so I wanted a local, contractor. I couldn't be more happy with who I've found, I'm almost afraid to share them since others may take away MY personal contractor. I found the experience and customer service typically associated with a large corporation, but in addition to that, and more important to me, they seem to be a company who actually cares about its customers and their needs! A Cut Above Carpentry is detail oriented and a refreshing change from my previous experience with contractors (others don't call, don't show up, or don't speak English). I can't say enough good things about them, they are A Cut Above the rest for sure! more

Excellent results - true professionals; they finished the job as agreed to, left the area clean, price was as agreed to, and the outcome was beautiful! We received damage from hurricane Sandy, after the storm we had a leak above our door, and the rain damaged the walls inside. I contacted A Cut Above Carpentry the Mon. after the storm and asked if they could come look at the leak asap (I was really hoping they could come out before more rain). There had been a lot of storm damage in the area, but I received a reply within four hours of my email. She said since it was a roof leak they didn't want us to incur more damage. She set an appt. the next day to inspect the leak and if needed put a tarp on the roof. I asked if there was any way they could tell me when the work could be done. The lady I spoke with said that because it was an emergency they would to to get it fixed asap. But she wanted me to have a proposal first so I would know what to expect and how much it would cost before doing so. The carpenter arrived promptly at 4:30 and informed me that I was missing a piece of trim above my door and that he could repair that and the walls inside. They sent my estimate which was a fair price compared to the other 2 estimates I received. They scheduled the work within a few days. The day before my appointment they called to confirm and said they hadn't received my contract or deposit,( I had forgotten to send them) but they worked with me so that the repairs could be completed that day, before more rain. They arrived on time for my appointment and, after taking off the outside trim, noticed there was no insulation at the top of the door, after closer inspection, there was none on the sides either. They revised my estimate and completed the repair for less than the actual estimate. I am VERY pleased with the work that was done. In fact, you can hardly tell that there was any damage inside what-so-ever! The price was fair, the work was done on time, with a professional demeanor, and the results are fantastic! I will definitely call on them again for any home improvement and/or repairs. more

Good: Prices are fair, work was awesome, workers are honest (even told me I didn't need to spend extra on the "frills"), very friendly and prompt customer service, the workers left the area cleaner than when they started, and they finished ahead of schedule. What more can I say? They are a true dream to work with and we will call them again, and again!. Bad: The only downside, I don't have a bottomless checkbook...if I had unlimited funds, I'd have them here every day!. Improvements: There wasn't a single aspect of the job, from the initial phone call, to the work, to the clean-up, to the bill, to the follow up call about a week after the work was done could have been better. They are true professionals, each and every one I dealt with was knowledgeable, helpful, and courteous! Fantastic company to do business with!. Other: I have never had an experience quite as impressive as this. I thought the days of hard working contractors was a thing of the olden days, apparently not - this is what service is all about! Great work, can't wait to call upon them again.. more
