Oh my where do I begin? Horrible place 10/8/2011

My daughter chose this place for her 30th Birthday dinner. What a mistake that was we have never been to a place with such poor service. To start off they called several times on the same day to confirm and reconfirm our reservation, just how many times do we need to confirm. From there it just gets worse. The time it took to get our food was ridiculous and one of my daughter's friends order was cold when it was brought to the table on top of that it was incorrect so it was taken back to the kitchen. When it was brought back to the table it was still incorrect, again we called over the waitress her response was ""the chef gave you a better steak"" and treated us as if we were bothering her. My daughter's friend didn't want a better steak she wanted what she ordered so they took it back again and again it came back to her incorrect. Our waitress never came around to ask if everything was ok, if we needed something we had to hunt someone down. Now we are just annoyed. Called over a manager who took the order back to the kitchen again, still not right. The waitress came over and told us desert would be complimentary for all the issues we had, we ordered 1 desert and they brought birthday cake to my daughter. We were told they removed the incorrect order off the bill but they actually charged us for it and for both the complimentary deserts! Are you kidding me! On top of that because we had a part of 8 they automatically add the gratuity of 18% which our waitress DID NOT EARN! So once again we have the manager come over and finally had those complimentary items removed. The food was ok not worth their cost we have had much better. This whole experience was very disappointing, we do not recommend this restaurant, if you decide to try it yourself good luck and make sure you look over your bill carefully. more

Delicious Food with Great Ambiance 6/15/2010

My husband and I had dinner here with another friend and all of us really enjoyed it. We sat in the newly opened patio, overlooking the bay. The view was very nice and relaxing, great for any social gathering. We ordered the trio plate as appetizer and it was delicious! My husband normally doesn't eat lamb, but he absolutely loved it! It was very juicy and tender. I loved the shrimp tempura because it was not greasy like most tempuras and the shrimp was very soft and tender. The Japanese sauce that came with it had a light wasabi flavor and it was the perfect combination. All of us shared the Gourmet Slider Combination Platter, which included filet mignon, ground angus beef, cheese, grilled chicken, blackened ahi, pork, and crab cake. The filet mignon slider also had saut?ed mushrooms in it. All of them tasted good and the presentation was great. My favorites were the crab cake, filet mignon slider, and especially angus beef slider. The onion straws in the angus beef slider was very tasty. It?s very unique, I?ve never been to a restaurant that serves crispy onion straws with their slider. The crab cake slider tasted so juicy and soft that I mistakened it for fish at first. My husband really liked their blackened ahi because of the seasoning. Get the cheese slider if you?re a cheese person because it?s loaded with cheese. The combo platter also came with sweet potato fries, which we all agreed tasted better than Veggie Grill, they?re not too salty or greasy. We also order a side of calamari and it was the best calamari I?ve ever had! It was crispy on the outside but soft on the inside and the sauce was superb! It tasted like an exotic Thai dish. I highly recommend their calamari. Overall, the food was fantastic because you could taste the freshness in the food they serve. Our waiter was really friendly and recommended some of their most popular items on the menu and the specials. The price range seemed reasonable to us. It's actually very affordable and less expensive than some of the restaurants that I've been to in Newport Beach. The ambiance is great, right on the bay, and the interior is beautiful. My Visit 3/5/2010

I have never felt so uncomfortable at a restaurant in my life. I came to this place expecting friendly customer service but did not receive that at all. First off I am Asian American and so is my girlfriend, we came in there and immediately get odd looks from the greeter and the young man in the blonde hair. He asks me if I wanted a specific spot to be seated, I ask by the window near the water. He disregards that and looks over a this lonely corner of the restaurant and says, ""You can sit here."" In my mind I'm going, ""Why the hell did you just ask me where I want to sit if you're going to choose for me?"" The food was tasty but not satisfying, and was not worth what I paid for, for $25 a plate. The vibe I was getting from this restaurant was horrible. The employees act like rich snobs and look at you like you're an alien if you don't seem like the norm that goes there. Hated it. Pretty place though.... Pros: Good food Cons: Bad service more

Great Place - HAD A GREAT TIME!!! 2/11/2010

Went to meet some friends and had one of the BEST times i have ever had in Newport. The crowd there was very up beat and good looking. We had some very good appetizers and you can really taste the drinks - they're big and strong. Can't wait to go back the outdoor deck was almost done - this summer will be great, also found out they have boat slips available to use right below the restaurant. THE PLACE ROCKS. Favorite Restaurant! 12/30/2009

I just moved to Newport beach about a month ago. Coming from San Francisco, surrounded by endless gourmet restaurants and tastes that drove my taste buds wild, I can be one tough critic when it comes to food. After taking a boat ride with my husband on our new neighbors boat for a little welcome to Newport Beach cruise, from the harbor we spotted 3thirty3. My neighbor told us how wonderful the restaurant was, and I laughed inside with disbelief that he hardly knew what he was talking about. Later that week I was tempted to try. After my first bite of the Lobster Ravioli I was hooked. Of course I sneaked a few bites of my husband's fresh salmon and was in heaven. The salmon was so fresh, it fell apart as I slipped my fork into the last bite. The bed of potatoes and marinated vegetable salad it laid upon was absolutely delicious. Aside from the irresistible menu, the atmosphere of the restaurant made us feel warm and comfortable. The ambiance lures you in making the restaurant perfect for a nice dinner for two, or even a place to bring family and friends. The view of the harbor as we sat at the booths against the windows really gives the room a unique feel. The low tables and comfortable seats makes it a little more intimate. And I must credit the fantastic service! Everyone we encountered was very personable, making the night more than just ""going out to eat"", but an experience in itself. A few nights after, we had just left a late night movie and were starved! Passing by 3thirty3, we noticed that it was still open. As I Started to get the midnight munchies we went in for a quick bite and were handed a full late night menu which starts at 11:30 pm. I was so excited to see the sweet potato fries and the Kobe Beef Gorgonzola Burger still available! And to top it all off we rant into the manager who we met at our previous visit and he remembered our names! It's those little things that make you want to come back for more. Cant wait to go back 9/3/2009

i went there for the first time the other day and the bartender brought me my drink within the first 5 minutes that i sat down. we only ordered appetizers: the ribs, sliders and calamari. Although they were all amazing, the calamari took the cake. It is INSANE! if u go YOU MUST try it... its not ur average calamari it has a completely different flavor. Energy Good - Food BAD 6/12/2009

Seared Ahi Tuna - Pretty basic you would think , but the only thing I could do was soak it in the Wasabi sauce for some flavor. Sauce was weak at best and steamed rice was dry. Other diners with me - food tough or bland. $200 and McDonalds would have been better. The only thing that made it worth it was chillin with my girls! Great place for Breakfast and Lunch 5/21/2009

We come here every time we drive in from Vegas - well worth the trip - on our last visit we made it for lunch on Friday (build your own burger or chix sandwich) HUGE, great value and made 2 meals out of one. Then came back the next day for the Breakfast Burritos - well worth saving up the extra calories - and the build your own bloody Mary Bar is the bomb! Keep up the great work and GO HAWKS!!!! WORST PLACE ON NEWPORT BEACH!! 12/14/2008

OK....where to begin? I called this place seeing the restaurant looked nice and elegant and decided to dine her for my 4 yr anniversary with my girlfriend. Im from out of town so i was expecting good service and a good atmosphere. However, moment we walked in one of the servers saw us waiting and decided to pass us by and not ask us to be seated. Finally the manager did the same until i had to ask her if we can please be seated! ( there was probably 8 people there not busy at all!!!!) we sat down and they close there full dinner menu at 11pm. we got there at 10:50 and they decided to give us the menu with just appetizers instead. I ordered a cesear salad and it came with anchovies. I told them i didnt like it and i just wanted it taken off and the server rolled her eyes and never EVER came back to ask how our food was or anything. I felt like walking out on her being she gave pooooorrr service. The service is HORRIBLE ..as well as the MANAGMENT! stay away unless you look like ur from ""the oc"" if u know what i mean theyll give you GOOD service because i seen them helping out all the white people and i happen to be hispanic! i hate this place. POOR BAR SERVICE 9/24/2008

I have been here 5-6 times and each time am shocked at the lack of service when sitting at the bar. It seems as if they hire ""model type"" bartenders- both men and women- who are in no hurry to cater to the customers. I often wait 10 minutes without even an acknowledgement and then they are not that friendly and service is painfully S-L-O-W. Food is okay but I would expect better service in this price range. Not good 9/17/2008

When I try a new restaurant I always have this feeling of optimism that something magical might happen. In the back of my mind I reason that in the worst case I won't love the food or some aspect of the ambience but at least I'll have a new adventure. After a first visit to 3 Thirty 3, I'm forced to extend my definition of worst case to getting insulted by the staff and forced to pay for food that never arrived. A standard model for the success of a bar/restaurant is to create enjoyable experiences to earn future business. On my last visit to 3 thirty 3, I was hoping to celebrate one of life's small successes with food and wine. Unfortunately my evening was ruined by a rude and incompetent staff. I have been living in Orange County for 19 years and eat out about once a week. I tried this place with a friend a couple weeks ago. The service was atrocious and the food was inedible. We paid the $73 bill for the couple bites required to reach the aforementioned assessment of the food and went elsewhere for some pizza. The best thing I can say is that neither of us got sick. I found this place thru citysearch and been there couple of times and highly recommend to others. Food is decent and great ambience. It seems more like a bar cause they got a huge bar in the middle of the restaurant but i guess it's good for people watching and hang out. I highly recommend this place except for one waitress named Shawna, she doesn't smile and not so friendly. Other than that, it's all good. more

i found this place online. we were the last ones to come into the restaurant @ around 1:50am, but they were glad to serve us. they had a little late-night menu--i had the mini filet mignon burgers. yummm! my date had the mac&cheese, it was ok. but the service was really good, the people were really nice and the restaurant had a great ambience =) Pros: ambience, food. service Cons: none. more

Great Dining and Party Atmosphere! 10/1/2006

I live in L.A. County but needed to find a decent fun restaurant in Newport for a Bachelorette Party Dinner. We had the best time. It's nice enough to dress up and not be out of place, but not so fussy that you had to have a coat and tie for men. The prices were great and not so outrageous that I broke the bank throwing a party. The service was wonderful from the minute we walked in. The seating is great lots of tall tables and booths that were very comfortable and clean. The view is tremendous and the bar is very pretty. Our food was fabulous we tried three appetizers all which were super yummy. Then for our main dishes, we had everything from the Kobe beef burger, steak, chicken potpie, and a couple different fish entrees. Each girl loved their meal. Our drinks were constantly checked on and being refreshed but never did we feel rushed through even though it was a super crowded Sat. night. Pros: Great service, Tremendous Food Choice, Very Comfortable Seating!! Beautiful View Cons: Reservations are taken only until 6:30 more
