FANTASTIC! 1/10/2011

Echoing an earlier review -- I had my birthday party at 3 Steps last weekend and it was TREMENDOUS. I was greeted by Justin, the bouncer, who was charming and friendly and brought me and my friends to our reserved area in the back. Angie, the owner and bartender, was so accommodating so that folks could watch the Jets game and then dance the night away with an amazing DJ who took our ridiculous and fun requests all night. It was the perfect night of drinks, dancing and fun. I usually mix it up every year, but I might just make 3 Steps a birthday tradition! The bar is truly a hidden gem and I hope it continues to see success and serve as an example for other bars with ""too cool for school"" attitudes to emulate. \r \r Thanks again 3 Steps for a great birthday! more

Fantastic Little Find 5/7/2010

I love this place. I stumbled upon it one night a few weeks back and I've been raving about it ever since. Why? 50% off all drinks except specialty cocktails, every night from 5-10. Every.Single.Night. The bartender/owner, Angie, is awesome - so personable and welcoming. The clientele is nice - not too young, not too old, not too rowdy, not too boring, etc. There's a DJ on Thursday, Friday and Saturday night and I ensured there was dancing one recent Sat night. This is one of those gems that you feel so lucky for finding in Manhattan. Pros: The deals, the bartender, the clientèle Cons: It won't be around the corner once I move more

SAKE TO ME! 10/7/2009

Went to 3 Steps with a girlfriend and we were totally surprised! This place is hip, cool, has a friendly crowd and mixes up some amazing cocktails. I asked for a cocktail suggestion and the bartender made me an awesome Green Teani with sake. I don't really like sake but this cocktail changed me! It is this new type called TY KU and she gave me a free taste of it!!! So cool of them and will be back soon Pros: Awesome cocktails! more

Amazing! 7/2/2009

I had my birthday at 3 Steps last weekend and the night was so much fun. Angie, the owner/bartender bought me drinks throughout the night and kept making sure my friends and I were comfortable. The bouncer was also so sweet. The DJ played awesome music and it was just a great space to sit and talk or dance with friends. Amazing drinks at great prices! Highly recommended. Great place! 9/3/2007

I went on a regular Friday night, right at the end of the Happy Hour. First, the specials are awesome. Second, while the place isn't huge, it wasn't uncomfy, and the general vibe of the people were very friendly and chill. Third, the bartender happens to be the co-owner, and she was also very chill, down to Earth, and the whole atmosphere makes me want to come back again! 3Steps is a great place to hang out any night of the week. The happy hour specials are unbeatable...$4 for a cosmo?? I'm sold! And the weekends bring a really cool, fun crowd. You dont have to worry about being pushed around, the people who come to hang out are relaxed and just looking to have a good time. The music isn't so loud that you have to scream at the person next to you, which is great b/c its really romantic so you can go after a date and actually hear what the other person is saying. The bartenders are really nice, they're not trying to rush you, they make great drinks and look like they're having as much fun as everyone else. Go see for yourself! 3Steps is a GREAT time!! I live in the area and I'm there practically every night. It's the kind of place you can bring your friends for a good time or bring a date for the cozy, fun atmosphere. The music is great and the drinks are even better. There aren't many bars like this left in NYC!!! Pros: ambience, cocktails, music, people more

I found this bar on a random week night and feel like it's ""so New York"" because of the cool, fashionable and fun people. This is the perfect spot to start the night before painting the town! My friends are I were looking for a cool new spot to have a few drinks and have a good time when we stumbled upon 3Steps. This is definitely the best place to go in an area littered with Irish pubs. If you want a relaxed atmosphere, great drinks, good music and a really fun crowd, this is the only place in a 5 block radius that delivers. Pros: great drinks, reasonable prices, fun hip crowd. more

Out of the way and a waste of time. I recently met up with friends here and was sorely disappointed (and not near another decent bar to go to). I was told this was a great bar for drinks and hip atmosphere. No way, no how-- the place was anything but hip or even entertaining. This place is desperately trying to be something it's not. Don't waste your time -- it's out of the way with a horrible set up and crowd. more

Great addition to the nieghborhood! 3/5/2007

I love this new bar! I?ve been living in this neighborhood for a while and have been waiting for a bar like this to open. Their cocktails are fantastic and the wine list is great. They have a food menu that is perfect for a small bite. Can?t seem to get enough of it.\r \r \r Pros: comfortable and great drinks Cons: can't walk by without going in more

perfect place for a birthday party 3/5/2007

I had my birthday party at this new spot in my neighborhood. The staff was quite accommodating and gave me the back tables without having to guarantee a ton of people. The service was great even when it got crowded toward the middle of the night. They made sure my friends and I were always taken care of . I felt like I was hosting a party in my apartment. I would highly recommend having your birthday party there. Pros: great space Cons: aren't enough places like it more

last friday i stumbled into this little nook of a bar while waiting for my friends who live around the corner\r only to end up staying there the entire night. GREAT VIBE!!! 2/19/2007

i had my staff bash at 3Steps on saturday night...it was amazing!! let's just say it's like being home, with a twist! i love the dim lights,candles,great music & a little bling bling from the chandelier! the service was excellent : our bartender angela created a pyramid of cucumber cosmos to welcome our team. they loved them! yum!!! seems that is just the beginning -a long list of fabulous cocktails to follow. we had so much fun laughing & dancing to great mix of music. this place is definitely a best kept secret. i am not the bar/lounge gal,but there is a definite alluring vibe about 3Steps. simple & fun! fun! fun! can't wait to plan my b-day bash!! i will be back!!! Amazing and Unique Cocktail Menu 1/11/2007

I brought my team to 3Steps for our holiday get together and they all raved about it. It was a cozy, dim lit, and intimate atmosphere that is great for informal work functions, post dinner drinks, or even a first date.\r My personal favorite is the Blackberry Mint Margarita, but my coworkers also loved the Cucumber Cosmo and Chocolate Martini.\r What i liked best was how the bartenders were personable and energetic...and they really knew how to make drinks. I asked the female bartender to surprise me with her own concoction using gin and whatever she made me was great. Watch out though, the drinks are strong and sneak up on you quickly. If you go there with work people, make sure you eat beforehand.\r \r Haven't been there on a weekend night yet, but I'm planning to check it out soon.\r \r Great little find, definitely recommend it! Great music, good vibe, good drinks 12/29/2006

I stumbled into this new spot in my neighborhood one night during the week. Even though I wasn?t planning on staying out I ended up staying there for almost the entire night. There is a small lounge area in the back that is too cozy to leave, especially after having a few of their oversized drinks. The crowd was easy to look at and the music was great. Good Times! 12/13/2006

I went there a few weeks ago for a friends party - the drinks were great, especially the martini's! Happy hour specials were a great deal too - $4 for a martini that tastes great and actually has alcohol in it can't be beat! The music was fun and the crowd was decent - it's a small place but you never felt crowded! I'll definitely be going back!! Pros: great drinks, people and music! more
