A place to see and be seen; just don't eat here 5/19/2010

I just don't get it. Maybe I'm too picky when it comes to pizza pie, but when I went to 2 Amy's on a date a few weeks back, I just didn't understand the appeal. First off, the place was packed and there was a wait at 9:30 PM on a Tuesday. I can look over this if the food is batcrazy amazing, but it wasn't. The crust was soggy and basically dripping in sauce juice. Gross. I like my pizza crust crispy and buttery. This was a sad, soggy mess. 2 Amy's has a full bar and all, which is great, but the drinks weren't mixed well. Also, stay away from the appetizers unless you want food poisoning. Many of the items just hang out in the open air and they looked a little worse for wear. I get that 2 Amy's is a great place to be seen around Washington, D.C. If that's the true appeal of this place, then order a beer at the bar and eat elsewhere. Pros: Elite crowd Cons: Crowded, food's not great more

Old-World Style Pizza 5/13/2010

Let's be honest, D.C. isn't New York City and the pizza options can leave a lot to be desired. Luckily for Glover Park, 2 Amy's is the needed relief from Domino's delivery or the standard ""Margherita Pizza"" that seems to grace every menu in the city. The pizza menu is extensive and if you still can't find something to satisfy your cravings, you can create your own. 2 Amys also has a full bar and a unique offering of beers and ales. The only drawback is that there is usually a wait to be seated. After dinner, skip dessert and head over to Something Sweet across the street. Pros: Warm ambiance, unique pizza offerings Cons: Sometimes a long wait for a table more
