In spite of the warnings other users have posted, I decided to give this place a try because it was given an overall score of 9. Boy did I regret it! The receptionist was rude. ...

Trim Spa Baby! 12/5/2008

$20 buck haircuts usually means some overweight schlubb rubbing his beer gut up against you but not at TRIM. Terri cut my hair and it looks great - more to the point she was hilarious. And they don't charge extra for the comedy! The vibe is cool, friendly girls, art on the walls (and on most of the girls bodies too - that's some serious tattage going on there). I'll be baaaaaaaaack!!! more

I was very unlucky 11/16/2008

It was a nice friendly place but the cute guatamalan girl who did my haircut didn't have any clue as to how to cut bangs for a round face. I am still trying to grow out my bangs and kicking myself for getting a $20 haircut. The cheap haircuts are probably done by less experienced and/or less skilled stylists. I was appalled by the haircut and would have asked for a refund if I'd paid more. Perhaps I just happened to be unfortunate enough to snag someone with less experience who didn't know more than the basic hair cuts. Pros: nice clean space Cons: don't know what level of hairstylist for the $20 price more

Best color, haven't tried the haircuts yet! 10/6/2008

I had Dina do my color/highlights and it looks perfect! People comment on the color all the time. I haven't tried the haircuts yet. It was a little on the pricy side but worth the few extra dollars for a great look. Highly recommended for highlights. Pros: Makes you look like a million bucks! Cons: a little pricy. more

over priced 9/27/2008

It's a great one time haircut place. I had my $20 haircut and was pleased, but I think the jump to $65 and up, Pros: I liked the hair cut Cons: I felt rushed. The 2'nd ect. haircuts are way over priced. more

Best Trim Anywhere 8/21/2008

Terri is hot. Her haircuts aren't all that bad either. I don't have anything more to say but this silly site needs me to type 100 characters. CitySearch get 0 stars for that requirement. more

Dina saves the day!!!!! 8/18/2008

I ended up going to Trim out of desperation. My regular hair stylist is was out of town and I desperately needed my roots colored because I am going to my class reunion. I was so tempted to throw some color on my roots myself but my co-worker convinced me not to, and I am glad that I didn't . She recommended that I try Trim, so I went to City Search and read the reviews and decided to give it a shot. Based on the previous reviews Dina was the go to girl. I called on Friday and requested an appointment with Dina and got in the very next day. I am soooooooo happy that I was a brave sole and let someone new (Dina) do my hair. She really listened to me and gave me exactly what I requested. I told her that I would like long layers and I got just that. She is extremely confident when it comes to hair coloring. She took a couple of glances of my hair, mixed some color up, applied it to my roots, and was a perfect match to my existing hair color. She is awesome. Don't be be mislead by the negetive post about the salon, give Dina a shot. You will be very pleased with her services. My previous stylist has some tuff competition!!!!! Pros: Great Service, Cool upbeat salon Cons: Parking. more

really worth the wait 7/2/2008

Usually I don't plan my haircuts too far in advance. A coworker referred me to see her stylist Dina at Trim in Venice Beach, CA. Initially I had reservations about driving so far simply for a cut and color. Secondly arranging a time that the two of us were mutually available was near impossible. After much ado she (Dina) was kind enough to stay late one evening in order to help me out. With her willing to put in that effort me, a complete stranger, I felt she was worth the drive and try. I was not disappointed. her enthusiastic nature coupled with her hospitality and skill made for quite the experience. Not only was she friendly but also deft and skilled with her shears. Her coloring abilities were top notch and her ability to not only give me the cut that I requested but was able to put the most magnificent spin of her own n it to make it that much more amazing. Pros: great staff awesome results Cons: kind of a drive, parking. more

Its a Girl!!! 4/17/2008

Ok, whats funny is i expected a guy when they said i was going to be with Nick. Not so. She is this chick that i was a bit intimidated by at first glance. Ton of tattoos...but still girly. Any way, i had a great experience and ill be back to see Nick. I like my new haircut a ton. Didnt get color but apparently they specialize in color. Oh yeah, and i WAS offered a beer... more

Yay im a Blonde...a natural, pretty blonde. 4/4/2008

I was referred to Nik by my friend who has been trying to get me to switch for a long time. I finally had a reason to switch and im so stoked. My hair is dark brown and i shouldnt have blonde hair but the way we decided on 2 blonde colors instead of just bleach like my old stylist used to talk me into, it looks so natural. its not as blonde as it used to be but its overall a softer color. i dont know how to describe it with all of the tech terms but i know it looks so good. And also, it feels less dry and fried. My experience was great. Oh yeah...i was late and they still took me. Pros: Whole experience was fine. Cons: None for me. more

So worth it!!!! 3/21/2008

I came in today. My first time and my stylist Lindsey was running a little late so i just chilled outside. She was so worth the wait. I tried to explain what i wanted but didn't really know how to say it. She totally got it. At the end it was exactly what i pictured. My family is coming to town soon and I'm planning on bringing them in. Very cool place. Thanks Lindsey. See you soon!! Pros: cool stylist, nice receptionist, great location, more

Nice people, Stylist Dina is Great! 3/20/2008

The bad reviews here really put me off, but after a terrible incident with a bad roller brush and a pair of scissors, I needed emergency hair intervention. Because of the bad reviews, I even called Ohm but they didn't have any walk-ins. So I risked it. Pros: Great cut for an outstanding price, no sales pressure, accomodating Cons: None, really more

fun salon on great street! 3/20/2008

I've been going to trim for over a year now, since my stylist Brooke came to work here. She does a great job on my cut and color and the price is totally reasonable for the westside. (I live in the Marina). The receptionist, Sandy, has always been extremely helpful; remembering me every time I call and bringing water for my dog when I have to bring him in. The salon is great to come to, music fun, relaxed, and pet friendly. I'll never drive to beverly hills again! Pros: pet friendly people friendly Cons: I spend too much money at Colcha and the rest of the boutiques on Abbot Kinney :) more

Pretty Average 3/11/2008

I got my haircut here back in December, and while it was a cute salon and the staff was fairly polite, my haircut was sub par. Maybe not ever sub par, but boring. You could barely tell I had a cut. I don't really plan on returning. Pros: Cute neighborhood, nice salon Cons: Borrrrring. And the $20 haircut does not include styling, so be prepared to go home with a wet head more

Worst haircut ever received 3/11/2008

In all honesty, it shouldn't be too hard to cut my hair, and it certainly shouldn't be too hard to listen and follow simple instructions. Unfortunately, ""cut evenly all around"" even when mentioned a few times, fell on deaf ears. The stylist proceeded to follow her own instructions, and the end result was dissasterous - an uneven cut front and back, and certainly lacking any comprehensible style. I'm stuck to wearing hats for the next few weeks until I visit another stylist to even out all the mistakes. I'm hardly picky or overly critical most of the time, but this was the worst job ever done. On the plus side - they did offer me a drink while they made me wait an extra 30 minutes for my appointment. Amazing service indeed. Pros: Place offers drinks Cons: Overall service, wait time, following customer requests more

Great haircut and color! Really fun! 3/10/2008

I was looking for a new salon to go to since I am new to the LA area (I go to USC). I got an awesome cut and partial highlights from Summer. She knew exactly what to do and I can safely say it is the best and healthiest my hair has ever looked. It was also a really fun, neat place. I enjoyed waiting outside on the patio while enjoying the complimentary beer : ) Pros: $20 dollar first time haircut, friendly staff, great atmosphere, complimentary drinks Cons: Nothing : ) more

Highly recommened. 3/4/2008

Great haircut. I went to Brook, and I've had a lot of compliments. The provided beer for my husband, so he was happy. Everyone was very friendly. Highly recommended. more

Horrible 2/27/2008

How anyone there changes $65-$85 for a haircut, I just don't get. It's basically Rudy's Barber Shop, with less talented stylists...at 3x the price. Maybe everyone there was getting the first-timer deal when I went? Pros: $20 first-timer deal Cons: Everything else more

Consistent Great Cuts 2/3/2008

i don't have an easy cut. it has to frame my face just right and i'm extremely rigid about it. not proud of that. i've been to trim three times and have walked away happy each time. they know what they're doing. Pros: consistency Cons: ? more

worth every penny 2/3/2008

My girlfriend and I went to Trim after being intrigued by the first time client offer. We were given appointments at the same time which meant that we had different stylists. Both of us we really happy with our cuts. I had a little bit of a wait because my girl got her hair styled, but girls say it was worth the wait. They were right she was totally happy, and if shes happy im happy. My hairs pretty simple but the stylist gave me some suggestions and tweaked it a tiny bit. So far so good. Totally worth out time and money. we will be back. Pros: chill people Cons: dunno more

Great cut...again. 2/3/2008

i just had another successful appointment with NIK. This time i rode my bike so i could drink a couple cold Tecates. I secretly go there to get an eyeful of Lindsay. Thats all. i just had to share...Great, consistent cut and hot eye candy. Pros: all good again. Cons: Didnt see any. more
