I am definitely changing my PCP after this. I have always felt that doctor" jobs were to make patients feel comfortable enough to turn to them in their time of need. However, my opinion changed after my experience with this doctor. I understand that doctors are busy with many patients each day but I feel that each deserves his individual attention and respect regardless of their age, sex, etc. This experience taught me otherwise. I feel that just because I am young doesn't mean that I don't deserve some respect. He was condescending and rude. When I went to visit him, I had to wait over an hour for him to finally see me. That was in addition to the 30 minutes I waited in the waiting room. The reason for his tardiness, he was on the phone. However, that alone wouldn't have made me this mad except his behavior afterward. He spoke to me like I was a nuisance and unworthy of his time. He didn't bother to explain anything to me or even acknowledge me. I asked him about my immunization shots and he dismissed my questions. He then proceeded to take his anger for my insurance company out on me when I asked him why he doesn't have my vaccine on hand. He claimed that he has problems collecting on claims from the insurance company. Then he simply grunted that he doesn't have the vaccine and then proceeded to ignore me and continued filling out his paper work. He then finished filling out my paperwork and dismissed me. My entire meeting with him lasted a total of 5 minutes after the 2 hour wait to actually see him. I don't believe that I would ever be able to confide and turn to this doctor if I needed some medical attention. It is not that he is incompetent, he just has an attitude problem. He seems to feel that I was unworthy of his precious time.
