Businiess name:  Farrell's Ice Cream Parlor
Review by:  K. K.
Review content:
We visited Farrell's to celebrate the occasion of our child's 5th Birthday this year. Both my husband and I grew up with Farrell's in our respective hometowns and were wistful and nostalgic about their absence. I was so happy and surprised to hear that Santa Clarita is home to one of the FEW remaining Farrell's Old Fashioned Ice Cream Parlors! So much about this Farrell's is the same as what you and I remember from our childhoods. The decor is very similar (although slightly less gaudy and "red" than I recall!) and the menu is substantially unchanged (The Zoo, The Trough, etc! Yippee!). Birthday celebrations are especially memorable here- they still bring out the giant bass drum, parade around the restaurant commanding fellow diners' attention to the birthday person with a large (FREE!) sundae and lots of bellowy song and whimsical pomp & circumstance. The prices are prohibitively expensive for frequent visits (I believe we paid nearly $70 for dinner for 3 adults and 2 kids- consisting of burgers, fries and mini-pizzas). And the menu food is pretty gross for the price. Go for the ice cream and to celebrate a special occasion- the memories alone are worth the price!
