Businiess name:  Tervalon's Restaurant
Review by:  Olivera J.
Review content:
The newly opened Tervalon's restaurant offers down-to-earth New Orleans fare and friendly service. They've only been opened for a month and some segments of the service still show it, but I have no doubt that they will take care of those little slip-ups (somewhat random service - but which New Orleans restaurant does not have this problem now? No hot sauce on the table - this is New Orleans and we do use it!...) The food is fresh and good and they do serve a lot of New Orleans favorites (po'boys, red and white beans with sausage and rice, stuffed bell peppers and like). The cornbread was probably the biggest miss - rock hard, it could well serve as a solution to the lack of building materials in the area... Just teasing, but it was truly hard enough to serve as a door stop and when we mentioned that to our waiter, he did not seem inclined to take any action on it. The two dishes we had - White Beans and Rice with Sausage and the Seafood Stuffed Baked Potato - were both well seasoned and generously portioned. The lunch specials are very reasonably priced and they include a house salad and a beverage. Tervalon's also offers take out (with extended weekend hours) and delivery services. What with the constantly changing hours of operation of every business due to Katrina, please check with them for the current operating hours. This is definitely a restaurant we will return to and we fell that it has a great potential for filling a niche that so far was quite lacking in the area - New Orleans food prepared the way it should be.
