Cool Cuts 4 Kids is somewhat hidden in the shopping center of of Mason where the PetCo and Kroger are. I wouldn't have even known about it if someone else wouldn't have recommended it to me. I took my daughter here for her first "real" haircut today. The concept is really great. The colors are bright and welcoming as you walk through the door. Your child can choose from a variety of movies that they can watch while getting their hair cut or they can choose to play a video game instead. For the younger children, they have special "seats" instead of a regular chair. My daughter sat in a fire engine and watched Little Einsteins. My daughter was really excited about everything at first, but still has major separation anxiety, so she still had a hard time getting her hair cut. The stylist tried every trick she knew (including pulling all sorts of fun objects, dolls, etc. out of a "special" drawer). The stylist did a great job and was very patient given the circumstances. I love my daughter's cut. They have a frequent cuts card where you can earn points toward discounted cuts. You also get discounts for purchasing items in the store. They have a huge selection of hair accessories for girls as well as some other fun things. I bought my daughter a couple of really cute hair bows and a cute purse and got a 20% discount since I just signed up for the card (which is free). The prices for the cuts are reasonable (about $13, but totally worth it!). You can make appointments or they accept walk-ins. I would recommend making an appointment. I went when they first opened and there were aleady people waiting. Plus, they take appointments first and there were only two people there, so we had to wait. I've heard it's even busier on the weekends. I will definitely take my daughter back again. I know that she will get used to it and probably love it before too long!
