I was in love with the Venetian hotel in Vegas - spent two nights there during Memorial Day when the rates came down low enough to be affordable, and boy was it worth it! Stepping into the lobby felt like a 5-star experience, gorgeous marble floors, and they ran out of our room-type so had to upgrade us to a room on the 27th floor with a fantastic view of the strip! And the room - wow, the bathroom was almost as big as my entire apartment in New York! Marble everything. Big bed, and stairs down to a sort of living room, just beautiful, and QUIET! I found walking through the hotels in Vegas overwhelming - had to be indoors all the time and it was impossible to understand where I was in relation to Las Vegas Boulevard, I felt constantly lost. The Venetian was one of the only hotels where I did NOT have this feeling. The lobby and casino were bright and open, high-ceiling, so didn't feel so daunting. You MUST visit the Canal Shoppes floor - there are beautiful ceilings painted like sunset, spectacular, as is the food! Last but not least - make sure to take a gondola ride, just have fun, this place is beautiful!
