Face it, buying a used car is something most of us would rather NOT have to go through. JD Byrider is a national chain, locally run. They have a pretty decent selection of cars to chose from but if you're going in believing those ads that they can put you in a car with $100 down even with horrible credit.. you're going to be disappointed. What they offer is a chance to fix your poor credit by purchasing a used car, usually nothing too new unless you want to put out a pretty big down payment, but with extremely high finance charges and usually a pretty hefty down payment. The plus side is that you make payments locally, right at JD Byrider's. You get a decent car that is under an excellent warranty because they basically figure you won't pay on a car that you can't drive. You get a chance to fix a bad credit record, but at a price. The down side, you definitely over pay and over pay highly for the car you get. You pay high finance charges and you typically do have to come up with a substantial downpayment. The salesmen also can be a little intimidating if you're the type that won't speak up. They pretty much approach you with the attitude that YOU need them, basically because you're coming there instead of a standard dealer with standard financing. While I wouldn't say NO to this style of used car buying, I definitely wouldn't suggest rushing there unless you have to but they're not horrible to deal with..just not great!
