First, I am sorry for the negative post, but I need to share this...I want to warn you all that if you have any elderly loved ones in an APPLE CARE facility, it is in your best interest to find a safer place for them to be cared for. I taught yoga at two of their facilities from November - March and was SHOCKED. In the short time that I was there, I witnessed a number of staff changes. A putrid odor of urine, feces, and bleach (so much so that I had difficulty breathing). Patients left out alone in the middle of the hallways having panic attacks. Some of the staff that I interacted with were extremely rude, not just to me, but to the patients as well. Telling them to "shut up." After sharing my experience with a few people, I have also heard other's horror stories about their negative experiences with Apple Rehab (Like staff refusing to change patients after they wet themselves). I also have a friend who works there and has shared with me how cheap and understaffed they are. I want everyone to be aware of what kind of care is provided. I do not want to blame all the staff because some of them are good and actually do care, but it seems that the people at the top do not have the best character. Apple Rehab hired me to teach Chair Yoga and has not paid me a dime. The staff kept telling me that it takes a while for them to process my invoice, but after 4 months of no pay it looks like they just took complete advantage of me. The residents there are so sweet and I worry for them.
