I was at the "Pav", as we in Brookings affectionately call it, for lunch this past Saturday and I have to say I was put off. My friends and I were the ONLY people in the restaurant...and this on a weekend afternoon when every other restaurant in town is swamped. In addition, our server (who can frequently be seen heckling the performers at the comedy night the restaurant holds every Thursday) was also the cook so it took forever to get our food. Why? I don't know. It's not like she was serving/cooking for anyone else! My friend's steak sandwich was tough, and my relatively safe choice of chicken strips and fries inexplicably came with a big bowl of buffalo wing sauce. However, if you're able to overlook the bad service and mediocre food, take a trip there after 10 on a Wednesday night and the place is crawling with wanna-be American Idols. Karaoke, courtesy of Dakota Entertainment, is always a fun time. Drink specials (Real long island iced teas for only $3.00!), help up the fun quotient. And if drinking isn't your thing...you can always make fun of the bad singers - definitely my favorite part!
