I brought in an antique lamp for which I needed a shade. The clerk kept looking for a pair of shades, even though I kept reminding her that I only had one lamp. I decided on a very unusual, lovely silk shade...rather expensive. Upon paying the bill, I noticed the clerk had charged me for two shades & packed two in my box. I assumed she worked on commission & was determined to sell me a pair of shades. Perhaps I was to wear one as a hat?
