I went to St Anne's hospital in Toledo, OH back in July 2014. I was told I had a severe sprain I asked them repeatedly if they were sure that it was only a sprain because I have osteoporosis and three years ago I had broken my ankle my foot and they told me at Flower Hospital In Sylvania Ohio that it was sprained and indeed it was broken as well. They put me in and Aircast and sent me home told me to follow up with an ortho in two days which landed on the weekend. My foot continue to swell at night when it was elevated and in the Aircast so I went back to them on Monday. I asked them to do more x-rays or an MRI that I knew something was wrong with my foot. The physicians assistant kept telling me it wasn't broken I demanded more x-rays finally the doctor came in without doing any more x-rays and told me that indeed my foot was broken on the top. I asked him how that could be when I specifically asked them multiple times if my foot was broken when I was in there when this initially happened? He ran with that as far as just that they were going to have the people come in and put me in a cast and then go to the orthopedic and I went to my orthopedic eight days later and he did more x-rays and found out that I have a chip fracture on the outside of my ankle as well!! I called and spoke with Jack Osborne, the director of radiology and he was to get back with me after speaking with the emergency room director, Debbie Graham as to addressing the fact that the x-ray report was not read. properly in the ER department and I was not properly casted when I was in there. I am still waiting to hear back from him on what they found out. BE YOUR OWN HEALTH ADVOCATE NOT STOP IF YOU FEEL THE SOMETHING IS WRONG DEMAND MORE TREATMENT MORE TEST MORE X-RAYS!!
