Review content:
After reading some of the negative reviews I was afraid it would be dreary and broken down but it was fine and our family had an excellent time. Check in staff was friendly and efficient. Room was as advertised. The water park area is small, and I can see how if it was mobbed with people it would not be fun, but the evening of our stay (a Tuesday night in June) there were few people and our kids (16, 12, 10) loved it and spent hours there. The hot tub area was closed for repair, but there was still plenty to keep them all occupied. They absolutely loved the 2 waterslides, esp. the red one which is pitch black and really fast all the way down. All the kids also loved the whirling whirlpool, and pretty much made use of the whole waterpark area. The Clarion room (actually a ""family suite"" with a queen bed, bunk beds and a pull out couch) was great and we had no complaints; it was perfect for the kids having their own space including bunkbeds, a pullout couch, and their own bathroom and tv, with the adults in a connecting private room and bath. The room included a fridge, microwave, ironing board, flatscreen tvs, blow dryers, 2 bathrooms, and everything was clean and tidy. The kids also tried out the mini-golf and enjoyed it. Yes, the facility is showing its age a bit but it was still comfortable and fun. We did not eat at the snackbar or the local restaurant, instead we went to the Amana towns for real-food fare. Someone in an earlier review mentioned the crappy towels, but the crappy towels are in the waterpark area, and they are fine for that.... people probably walk off with them right and left and they're probably laundered a million times a year, so of course they're going to be economy models. (The towels in our room were fine and normal). Overall thumbs-up family getaway.
