My friends and I threw an engagement party at the Black Duck and had a fantastic time. Before booking a venue we called around to numerous Lincoln Park and Lakeview bars and ended up choosing the Black Duck because it offered a private room, our own bartender, and a fairly priced drink/appetizer package. There was no charge to rent the room and our $35/person package included appetizers, top shelf liquors, martinis, and shots for three hours. My experience with planning the event was great, the manager was extremely helpful and catered to every request that we had (music, decorations, setting up AV equipment, etc...). I have been to a lot of bar parties with ""all you can drink"" packages and often find it difficult to get to the bartender to order a drink. This was not the case at the Black Duck ... the bartender was great and kept up with our drink requests all night. It ended up being a really great time and I would highly recommend the basement room of the Black Duck for your next private party.
