Review content:
My mother called and used her credit card to buy me a plant . When I went to get it, they denied any knowledge of the transaction. They kept asking me for the receipt. I explained that since the plant was a gift, my mother did not send me the receipt, and besides, she purchased over the phone and the only evidence would be the charge on her credit card statement. They kept telling me ""You'll have to get a copy of the receipt,"" or, ""You'll have to come back and...[fill in the blank with several nonsensical suggestions.]"" \r \r All the while, the plant my mother had purchased, an unusual variety which they had had to order especially to fulfill her request, was sitting in plain sight.\r \r Finally, after being told, ""You'll have to...."" one time too many, I replied, ""No, all I have to do is call my mother and have her credit card company refund her money."" The idiot representing Armstrong's said, ""Oh, well, then, you'll have to come back and speak to the manager about that."" I said, ""No, I don't have to do anything. You didn't fulfill your obligations and the credit card company will take care of getting my mother's money back from you. For my part, I will take my business elsewhere in the future."" \r \r My mother called them and spoke to someone who claimed she knew all about this and would call me. I got no call, so I gave them ONE LAST CHANCE and called them again. I asked to speak to the woman my mother has spoken to -- I had her name -- and the fellow I spoke to said no one by that name worked there. I asked to speak to the manager. I was put on hold. Then the SAME VOICE got back on the phone, gave me a different name, claiming to be the manager. Again, ""No such person works here.""\r \r I emailed my mother and told her to get her money back as soon as she could.\r \r I will never, ever, ever, ever, set foot at:\r \r Armstrong Garden Center\r 3226 Wilshire Blvd\r Santa Monica, CA 90403-2333\r (310) 829-6766 \r \r ever again as long as I live. Pros: Good quality plants Cons: Poor Service. Rude personnel
