My boyfriend and I made reservations at Nobu for a Friday night. We walked in and immediately had to walk around a photographer shooting photos of two scantily clad women eating the food (one girl looked like she was dressed for Girls Gone Wild) for what was presumably advertising purposes. The flash on his camera kept going off incessantly right in our faces and the photographer was taking photos all around us. We were at the bar and he kept going around it and we'd have to stare at him taking photos of everything. VERY unprofessional. The sushi chef was very polite and very quick with our orders, but it was probably the most mediocre sushi I've ever had. The waiter would just reach in between us to take plates or fill water without even saying excuse me. My boyfriend and I weren't dressed like tourists (he lives there). I was wearing Herve Leger and my boyfriend was wearing Hugo Boss. We did not look like we were about to go gamble as soon as we slid some sushi down our gullets. We didn't understand the whole scene. Having lived in NYC and having been to the Nobu there, this was a crass environment with a bunch of poorly dressed people talking loudly. Even the hostesses were dressed like they just walked out of Walmart. I was sincerely shocked. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. The sushi was just okay, the service was rude and it was just like any other strip restaurant I've ever been to but the prices were just more outrageous. Avoid.
