Took my dog to this Vet for ""cherry eye"" because it is so close to home. What a mistake. I should have known by the way the staff answers the phone. They are uncaring and cold. The doctor is arrogant and just keeps insisting on repeat visits at $45.50 a pop just for the exam. He refused to do anything until after he came back from his Christmas vacation while we had to spend our holiday with the dog in terrible discomfort. Imagine if you had a large gland coming out from under you eyelid! How would you feel?? \r \r Beware! Plenty of other vets in the area. Call them first!!! \r \r Just in case you do not believe me.... Below is the estimate given to me for surgery on a ""cherry eye"" in one eyeball. After consulting another vet, I was told that surgery is not the only option. With eyedrops and other medication, the ""Cherry eye"" can go back into place by itself. This option was NEVER given to me by the money hungry arrogant Vet at Kirkpatrick Vet Hospital. \r \r Here is the actual estimate give to me: \r \r Harderian Gland (tacking/One) $339.50 \r Preanesthetic injection $20.39 \r Induction- injection or mask $42.52 \r Maintenance- Isoflurane gas $42.52 \r Respiratory monitor $14.07 \r Hospital injection $22.70 \r Sterile Instruments/supplies $27.00 \r MISC $75.00 \r Vet Test General Profile $109.50 \r \r Total $693.20 \r \r When I questioned these charges I was told that only the $109.50 charge for bloodwork could be waived if I signed a waiver and the $75.00 misc charge could not be completely explained as to what that included. \r \r After listening to the second opinion, guess what!! The ""cherry eye"" is GONE!! Not only did I save $700 but my dog did not have to go through the trauma of surgery on his little eyeball. Cons: arrogant, money hungry
