We were first introduced to Butts Mill Farm several years ago, when they were first getting started, because my husbands work place held our yearly employee picnic there. We have since gone to visit on our own several times because it is such a great place! I would say it is especially good if you have children between the ages of about 2-12 (You know how sometimes nothing suits a teenager!)\r
We haven't been for about a year now, but last time we went they had tire swings, regular swings, some with enclosed swing seats for young children, zip lines(one with a seat made for young kids and a rope hanging down for you to hold and control) climbing houses with jumps into hay, a climbing type obstacle course, a Noahs Ark with two different long slides, one of those padded type indoor play areas (like at McDonalds) to let younger kids run and play, a tramploine, I'm probably forgetting a couple dozen things here, plus they've probably added more since we were there. They have horseback riding available for an additional fee, but sometimes they have had the horses out and available to give short rides for young children at no additional fee. (Mostly just around in circles a few times) Although I don't think it's there any more there used to be a deer that just wandered around and I got the CUTEST picture of the deer looking like it was kissing my (then) two year old son! They used to have an area that had bears, lions and some other animals that the kids loved to look at although I think they have moved some, if not all, of them to a nearby park that might be more appropriate for them. There is a petting area with donkeys, goats and several other animals that I can't think of right now. Hay rides, train type rides for younger kids, Ice cream and other foods available, a large indoor barn style eating area with a small stage for whatever a group of people might want to use it for. Wal-Mart would have different types of competitions for adults and kids to be entertained while they were eating their meals.\r
My husband and son loved the (not sure what they technically are called) go carts? They were too noisy and smelly for me, but the kids and men all seem to love them. They were the only things that did not seem to fit in to a ""country style"" fun place for me, but at least it was back behind the area and didn't interfere too much with everything else.\r
Oh, there is also a water slide and play area on the river which I almost forgot about as we've never been there when it was quite warm enough for that. There is a huge inflatable tiger slide that kids love, and how could I have forgotten the miniature golf course? \r
One time we had a small issue with one employee who I felt should not have been talking on her cell phone and ignoring my two year old son who was sitting on one of the horses she was leading around. We reported it to the owners who were extremely concerned and professional and we noticed the matter was taken care of almost immediately.\r
The owners have obviously worked extremely hard to make this a special, wonderful place for families to go and have fun for a day and I don't think you could possibly be disappointed!
