Went to JC Penny Salon in Vancouver Mall and was 120% devastated! I had 3 consultations with the permanent ""specialist."" One of which included the manager. I was reassured that I was a perfect candidate for a spiral perm. 150 rods and 4 1/2 hours later I sat in front of the mirror to see a big fried frazzled mess. I couldn't stop crying!!!! She fluffed it in an attempt to make it look curly and at every touch 5 to 10 inch strands of hair was falling out everywhere by chunks... Never in my life have I been so disappointed in kind words. I cant put into words the how distraught and emotionally damaged I was. The end result was no curls and she cut off the damaged hair, meant taking my hair from my waist line to above my shoulders... 13 1/4 inches lost!!!!!!!!! My hair is so damaged it wont take conditioning treatments. She tried to style after the cut with more layers of cutting, my bangs weren't long enough to cover my forehead. The sad part was, I didnt walk in with bangs... To make matters worse, she put me under the hair dryer and then flat ironed it. I ended up with a straw afro with layers so short they wouldn't LAY down! I just wanted to craw in a hole and die. As a courtesy they didnt charge for the destruction but had the audacity to charge for the cut. Instead of having decent customer service skills the manager asked me condescending questions that implied the ordeal was my fault. I had to remind her that she was part of my consultation. They didn't even offer an apology or even empathetic ear. I shouldn't have had to pay for the cut but I was in total shock and STILL AM EVERYTIME I LOOK IN THE MIRROR! I had this done for my 30th birthday and it made me look 45. Thank you JC Penny for your service excellence!!!... Pros: ??? Cons: My Hair Fell Out, Professionalism, NOT A SPECIALIST!
