Review content:
I went to Rescue Beauty as a walk-in after a boring day of jury duty as it was within walking distance of the courts. Their decor is wonderful, and it smelled very nice, a nice change from the usual nail polish and remover smell of most nail salons. They offer private and semi-private mini rooms for mani pedis and waxing, as well as a communal glass table for manis. Their own products smell wonderful, specially the rosemary pamplemousse lotion. For $22, I got an excellent manicure that included a wonderful arm massage, and got to pick colors from over 5 different brands of polish, including Rescue's own line, MAC, Delux Beauty, Essie, and others. Their mani/pedi implements were sterilized and individually sealed. They use the same brand of nail filers that Bliss uses, called Diamancel. The beautiful decor is topped off with a virtual cornucopia of beauty and fashion items for sale, including products from Molton Brown, Alora Ambiance, Burt's Bees, Ole Henriksen, Serge Lutens Fragrances, Delux Beauty cosmetics, jewelry by Roxanne Assoulin for Lee Angel, Suede fiip flops from Rescue's own brand, and even Cosabella thongs in many colors. I must say that all the hype Rescue gets from all the beauty mags is definitely deserved. For a little over twenty bucks, you get an expertly done manicure using deliciously scented products in a luxurious environment, with no rush, no crowds, and no worries about cleanliness and germs. The only negative point lies in its out of the way location.
Pros: Luxurious decor, great shopping, highly skilled technicians.
Cons: Inconvenient location.
