I have heard great things about Dr. Stern for years and I really don't know why I haven't taken my babies to him. I recently adopted 2 kittens from CAPS and they both had a chronic sneeze and raspy, sore throat. My vet (a popular vet clinic in Rosenberg) checked them out and gave them a clean bill of health. I was told that since they were so small, no temperature could be taken and that all animals that come from CAPS have a sneeze or a cold, that it would run it's course. I called the vet back the next day to tell them that the kittens were getting worse. Still, there was nothing medically that could be done according to my vet! No medication was prescribed. Long story short, I had to call CAPS a day later and they had me bring the kittens back in for a breathing treatment. They were appauled at the fact the Vet. had not taken a temp on the kittens. I was given some meds and 3 days later, my kittens stopped eating and still had no energy. They were sick! At the recommendation of a friend, I called Dr. Stern on a Saturday morning and actually got to speak to him personally. He told me that he was booked but to go ahead and come in as soon as possible and he would take a look at them. He checked everything! The kittens got shots, antibiotics and vitiamins and he told me to call him the following Tuesday to let him know how they were doing. Once again, he got on the phone when I called. My kittens were 100% better. My little guys suffered for two weeks because my other vet simply had no real interest...or was too busy to pay attention. That's really sad. I am so thankful that I discovered Dr. Stern. This man truly loves his work, he is by far the best vet I have ever used. He doesn't rush, he listens and he actually cares about your pet. From now on, I'll make the drive from Sugar Land. Dr. Stern is my new vet. Pros: Dr. Stern is knowledgable and doesn't rush you. Cons: I wouldn't say that are any negatives. Just try him and you will see.
