Review content:
Being born in San Antonio, Texas and of Cajun parents, with a great uncle who was a Mexican and lived in Baton Rouge, it is just a tradition to eat good Mexican cuisine. How many times I remember eating at my uncle's home on a hot sunday afternoon in Baton Rouge and having homemade tamales, and a snowcone afterwards from his little business stand in front of his home along the road. Those fond memories have been renewed with my first and not my last to the Guadalajara Mexican Restaurant. I met with the owner, Sol, and his family. They were gracious, courteous, and his staff was attentative to all our needs. And the food was authentic, freshly prepared from scratch, and simply delicious. I had the combination platter plus an extra tamale so i could have a little taste of everything. my wife had the chicken flauntas which she said was better than all the other restaurants we have been in. after our meal, I gave Sol a big hug and kiss on the cheek and said this was from my uncle Joe, ""I am sure he guided me to your restaurant to meet you."" I said to him. Uncle Joe has passed for many years now but his grandson has opened a restaurant in Baton Rouge, and I hope to visit it when I am up there for a visit again. but in the meantime, I will be eating at the Guadalajara for my Mexican meals. Viva Mexicana and Senior Sol and his family. Pros: parking is excellent esp. the handicapped which i used.
