Review content:
I had been working with Glocap for a number of years. They had placed me in a job at a hedge fund and I left my job after 5 years. I asked my recruiter some questions about the new company and she told me ""I don't know, but I would wing it"" and that by asking some questions that were important to me, that it could potentially put a negative taste in my new employer's mouth. So I had nerves in my stomach and was nervous and not excited about my new job from the start. I was never told about what my new firm's culture was really like and after 5 months I lost my job. It is the worst economy ever, and when I applied for a new job and reached out to this recruiter to let her know and also told her we needed to discuss what happened at my former employer so that she can give any potential candidates the full picture, she wrote back that she is appalled that I would ask for her help and that Glocap will not help in my search for a new job. All I told my former employer when they asked if I had been told about the culture there (it is a very tough culture) is that I was not told about the culture, that I generally was happy with the recruiter but that I was told to ""wing it"" when it came to a couple of things. I have since applied to positions through Glocap's website but they have all been ""Considered and Declined"". I find this practice completely unprofessional and unethical. I wonder if this recruiter was withholding information from me prior to my starting at my now former employer just so that I would start and she would earn her commission check. There are so many recruiters out there - use someone else! Pros: They get good jobs Cons: Unprofessional!!!
