Businiess name:  South Pacific Car Wash

Review content:
I wish I could give this place negative stars. Long story short - this place breaks stuff right before your very eyes and refuses to take responsibility! Avoid at all costs! I took my X5 there yesterday morning for a quick wash while I waited for The Lab to open a couple blocks up. I don't live in Costa Mesa and have no reference, so I went into the first place I found. I watched as the staff drying the car BROKE my windshield - I don't just mean a chip - they put what started as a 18"" crack that has grown to almost 3 feet in 24 hours. I WATCHED them do it, but of course, they refuse to take any responsibility. Paul, the owner, won't even take my phone calls to discuss - he punts me to his manager, Jesus. I filed the report before leaving the premises. They tried to tell me first that the crack was already there (even though it grew by 2 inches right before everyone's eyes). Then they changed the story and said it was due to cold water hitting hot glass. It was 56 degrees at the time I filed the report, and even so, is Jesus trying to say that they just shut down in the summer months because the glass gets too hot to wash? I think not. I saw that someone from South Pacific has responded to some of the reviews at other websites, feigning innocence and pretending to care. Don't buy a minute of it - these people know full well what they did, and they knew right from the get-go that they were going to stonewall me on any kind of response. I will GLADLY retract every word if these people do the right thing and take responsibility for what they broke. OEM glass for a 2009 X5 is almost $1300. My insurance company (USAA) will be going after South Pacific, but I have to pay my deductible up front. Like I said, I don't live in Costa Mesa, so I have no reason to visit this POS facility again. But you can be sure I will tell my story far and wide. Avoid, avoid, avoid.
