Extremely unpleasant dining experience. The staff and the owner were snootier than those at any Hollywood club I have ever been to. It has been my experience that most Italian restaurants are very accommodating with their menus, willing to change a sauce here, add an ingredient there, as requested. Not so at this restaurant. To the contrary, we were treated with great hostility just for asking! They offer a gnocchi with 3 sauce choices and my mother had never tried one of the sauces so she asked if she could have her order just divided into 2 portions, with a different sauce on each half. First the waiter just flat out said no and when we asked why, she would not answer and instead suggested we take it up with the owner, which we did. The owner then informed us they'd do it, but they would charge $2.50 more to do it that way (they actually charged us $3). When I asked why it was an extra charge to just take the same portion and divide it in halves, she replied ""because this is a business."" Seriously. When pressed, she changed her answer and insisted that if they split the dish in halves, they would have to make larger portions (why is unclear). However, when the dish came out the portions were extremely small, so I cannot even imagine how small the alleged normal portion is. The upshot is, this restaurant will work with you, but you have to be willing to put up with a lot of attitude and ridiculous extra charges. And in the end, all of the food was barely mediocre, at best. Frozen raviolis from the grocery store are better than the ones that I got at this restaurant, which had almost no filling in them at all. Oh, and don't bother ordering a glass of the house wine. It costs as much as a glass of medium-high level wine at any other decent restaurant. Frankly, in a town that is continuing to blossom every week with new, innovative, delicious, and fun restaurants, there is simply no reason to go to this restaurant for bland food and a bad attitude. Pros: Practically empty, so no wait Cons: Bad attitude, food
