Review content:
The Fishwife is my favorite restaurant. Its family owned & operated, great food & service, cheaper fresher fish & chips than any seafood spot in the city, everything is homemade & as sustainable as possible. I went there just last week & decided it was my time to give the Fishwife staff the praise they deserve for all their dedication & service over the years. I was super dismayed however when i came this site & read the ignorant reviews posted last about my fave spot! To the silly people who were unhappy with their togo order & their ""bad service"" by the chef: First, dont get grilled fish togo. It is not a good idea. Second; dont harrass a chef/ manager when they are super busy in the middle of cooking a dinner rush. They are coordinating MY food, flustered & stressed. Call the next day or towards the end of the nite and ask to speak with the manager. Thirdly, Halibut is a dry fish that is not in season right now; thus rendering it dryer than the fresh. I apologize if i seem emotional but this place is FREAKIN AWSOME. I have been eating there for years; grown to know the staff including the ""rude female manager"" who works both front & back of the house, has always provided me & my friends with thoughtful service, makes all the desserts at Fishwife & has been locally & nationally recongized for her accomplishments. (She was featured in this months issue of Mix magazine & appeared on an episode of Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations) So go to The Fishwife. Get the oysters. get the chowder. Try the specials, theyre always amazing. Dont order grilled halibut togo (unless u already know u like it & ur normal). And dont angrily approach busy chefs who apparently have been busy enough that nite to run out of grilled halibut. CHEERS! Pros: Super delish & friendly Cons: small place; sometimes the cannot take togo orders
