Wow, I though I was getting a deal with a coupon from Restaurant_dot_com to this great restaurant that I had been to a few years back. My, how things change. Got there and started asking for my favorite dishes. No more smoky red beans and rice. No more whole baked sweet potatoes. Their ""Cajun Menu"" is one dish long. These folks are resting on their laurels, banking on the past, all the while subtracting from their formerly unique flair. The tables were sticky...I don't mean they didn't clean them, I mean it's like leftover adhesive from contact paper long ago...weird, though not all tables were like that. The salad came at the same time as the entre?s. BIG no no. I'm not going to eat a salad while my entre? goes cold. Since everything was plopped on the table at once, I didn't get to the cornbread until it was cool, though it seemed a good flavor, kinda cakey for me, I like it a bit more crispy and muffin like. When I got to the salad, the runny dressing and wet lettuce didn't work well. Made a puddly mess. Collard greens weren't much. Mashed potatoes and gravy were fine. But when was the last time you got excited over mash? Baked beans were average. The jambalaya was good, but if you think that jambalaya makes a ""Cajun menu"" please visit New Orleans again. How about an etouffe?, or a gumbo? And where did my red beans and rice go? My wife is from N'awlins so we should know our Cajun. The one bright spot was the full slab Memphis-style ribs. Awesome flavor. But they could have been a bit more tender...though this seems to be a trend among BBQ lately...slightly tender but not fall off the bone good. The BBQ chicken was also good, but on average this restaurant has had it's heyday. I caught a glimpse of it a few years back, but now I'm only left with the blas? that this restaurant has become. Pros: Tasty Ribs Cons: Everything else
