Review content:
During the Christmas Season, my husband and I went to Pappas Seafood and had the worst experience. It was our first time there and will be our last. We dressed nicely, not what might be considered Christmas colors, but still very nice. We were told there was a 20 minute wait, no problem, we gave the hostess our name and took our place in line. 20 minutes later, no tables available, yet. 30 minutes, we notice they are seating people who came in after us. 35 minutes, I confront the hostess and miraculously a table has ""just been freed up""! While waiting for our server, my husband and I talked about what had just occurred. We made notice of the people who were wrongly seated before us, they were in Christmas attire. As the night went on, we were also slighted by our server. We had to ask for refills, usually twice, before our drinks were refreshed and we shouldn't have had to ask, period! At one point, the server walked by, acknowledged that we need refills and never brought them. We asked for condiments, were told they would be right out, never did see them. I asked for a drink from the bar and never got it, either. All because we weren't dressed ""Christmasy"".... Those who were, got the service they wanted, while we couldn't even get the service we deserved!! Next day, I called the corporate office and told the gentleman of our experience and he acted as if their employees would absolutely not act in such a manner. When I told him that we spent well over $100.00 and would not be back, he then offered me a gift card for ""our trouble"". When it came in the mail, it was worth $25.00! I was floored! We didn't order a lot of things, it's just that this restaurant is expensive and I wasn't asking for a hand out, but I didn't deserve that slap in the face, either and that's a gift card that won't be used to prove I meant what I said.... We will not be discriminated against and take it with a smile and a thank you, sir!! There are better places to eat in our area that won't discriminate against you because of the color of your clothing!! If we had received the service that we deserved, our server would have gotten tipped more than that gift card was worth. We are, in fact, generous tippers because we do appreciate good service.
