I had D & M Heating & Air Conditioning out here and the good thing about them was that they were the best price pretty much by far. Then they came and brought the wrong air conditioner. I live in a condo, and it just didn't fit. Then they brought in another one, but it was seven inches too long, but at that point I said to heck with it and I just had them put it in. Nothing passed inspection. They kept blowing me off, and blowing me off, and blowing me off, and I kept calling and calling because it didn't pass inspection. I finally got through to Kurt, and he came in and fixed the problem. Another good thing about them was what they did for me on the 4th of July. The air conditioner went down, something wrong with the battery blowing up in my thermostat, and they were good enough to come out and take care of it. I appreciated their service in that respect. But in terms of the installation and everything, they were over an hour late, they brought the wrong unit, then switched them and changed the price, which as far as I'm concerned is a bait and switch, and I kind of got irritated and just accepted it. Then it didn't pass inspection, and that really upset me. It was three or four weeks and numerous phone calls before they finally rectified it. They wouldn't return my phone calls and messages, they said they would pass it on, and obviously they didn't. That's pretty much why I would not recommend them, regardless of the price. RESPONSE FROM D & M Heating & Air Conditioning: On the date of the installation,my crew took the correct air conditiner unit to the customers home. They discovered that due to the extreme limitation on space available at the front of his condo, the unit would not fit. We brought a unit that would fit in the space and installed it and the price for the job was adjusted for the change. No 'bait and switch' as this was not advertised and changed. The job passed all inspections except for the outdoor exhaust termination. Difficulty in scheduling a return due to limited availability of the customer for the correction is the only reason that the change was not done earlier.
