I give Scovill Zoo in Decatur IL, 4 thumbs up. Compared to other zoos of smaller size, it is an excellent choice. There is a good variety of animal species to view and interact with, beautiful grounds to walk through, and several amusing attractions for the kids. The smaller size of the property is perfect for younger kids. My 3 year old had enough to do to keep her entertained for the afternoon, but it wasn't to the extent of overwhelming her. Very, very reasonably priced; much cheaper than the larger zoos.
