Review content:
I have been a regular at "Da' Torch" for about 5 years & all other clubs in Sacramento pale in comparison! Marina, the owner, operates an excellent club with a very diverse group of regulars, an eclectic jukebox, stiff drinks, excellent security and huge variety of performers & bands with many different styles. Everything from swing, (The Hucklebucks), to old school funk, (Stacie Eakes, M0f0 Party Band & Mercy Me), to smoking hot Jimi Hendrix style guitar, (Jimmy Pailer) to rock with Battle of the Bands winner, (Nothin' Personal). However the Torch is famous for being "The Club" to hear live blues in Sacramento with performances from artists such as Johnny Guitar Knox, Terry Hanck, Lara Price, Aaron King, Mick Martin, Daniel Castro, Lara Price, John Lee H00ker Jr, Chris Cain, Janiva Magness, The Delgado Brothers, Shane Dwight & Mark Hummel - just to name a few. To me, the Torch is like "Cheers", a place where everyone knows your name. The crowd ranges from early 20's to old timers in their 70's, from local celebrities to state workers to conventioneers, everyone there to have a good time. As you can tell, I am a little biased, but check it out yourself & you will see I am telling the truth! Pros: Great Ambience, Stiff drinks, Friendly bartenders, Great bands! Cons: Downtown parking can sometimes be a hassle!
