Businiess name:  Lewnes' Steakhouse
Review by:  Alayna P.
Review content:
We recently visited Lewnes for our anniversary and it was a lovely experience, but with room for improvement. Lewnes is a charming steakhouse that also serves seafood and allows you to pick your own lobster. The bar and tables on the first floor are a bit crowded, contrasting with the quaint second floor dining room. We had a table by a window...with a view of the street, not the boats. The room ambiance is a little off - kind of like it's missing energy, so bring your own. I ordered the fillet mignon (not petite mignon), medium, and it was the most succulent piece of meat I've ever tasted. The outside was crisp, the inside perfect pink and juicy. Without question, worth the price. As for everything else on the menu...par. The salad was small and uninventive, but the house dressing was tasty. The baked potato was fine. The asparagus, slightly overcooked. For dessert: key lime pie and chocolate mousse. I'm pretty sure the pie was from a box. The mousse suffered a density nearer pound cake than mousse. But how can I truly complain about chocolate? And it was delivered with beautiful chocolate drizzles and whipped cream. Lewnes is known for its steak, though, and now I know why. I'd go back again and just order another fillet for take-out. I should also mention they have a broad-ranging wine list with a few bottles well over $1000.
