Businiess name:  Terminix Pest Control

Review content:
We live in the country and have the occasional scorpion and such, and I think we'll just have to deal with them the old-fashioned way, a shoe. When we called Terminix to come out, we specifically asked the company whether they would bind us to a contract and whether each appointment was cancellable. The answers were no and yes, respectively. This was important to us, because we had a bad experience with the prior pest control company (they'd show up even though we had canceled an appointment then charge for it). After the second treatment with Terminix, we noticed about the same amount of bugs as before the treatment. We used the pest spray they supplied us with, but nothing really changed, so we tried to cancel the next appointment. The rep told us that it was not cancellable, the contract was binding for minimum of 4 treatments, and that they would come out and treat the outside part of the house whether we were home or not. The next rep we talked to said the same and even asked snidely didn't we read the contract. She then transferred the call to another rep without waiting for a response. The third one said we had to give 30 day notice to cancel the appointment and offered to send a manager out. By this time, however, we were done with the company and paid to get out of the contract. Being told different things - especially information that was completely different from what we were told before signing on - was enraging. But, I don't think they really cared about that. So, watch out for the lack of "pest control" and giving misinformation just to sign you up to a binding contract.
