Review content:
I just moved to Austin from LA about a month ago. I have always worked in high end salons, but had no idea where to go now that I am in TX. Anyway, I found this salon through City Search. When I called in the receptionist was very nice and recommended a colorist/stylist for me. I was a little hesitant, as I told her that I come from a high end salon backround and I am very picky, but she quickly referred me to someone with out listening to everything I had to say. I figured, I'll go with it and keep my fingers crossed this person is good. First of all, the salon is nowhere near as nice as it appears on the website. It is very run down, nothing matches and it's really dirty. Anyway, my girl was nice, but didn't talk much and took almost 2 hours to put foils in my hair. When I was being shampooed I asked if she was going to tone my hair and she told me it matched and we didn't need to. I thought this was odd, but whatever. During the haircut everything seemed alright and she blew my hair out almost the way I like, but it was a little beauty pagenty. No big deal, as when I do it myself, it won't look like that. So the second I get in my car and I look at my hair color in the sunlight I was horrified. It was bright butter yellow...glowing in the sun. I went home right away and I used a toner that I already had there to try on get rid of the bright yellow. It helped, but my roots are still pretty bright. I was trying to stay positive , but after blowdrying my hair myself I realized that it is super heavy on one side and the back is totally jacked...it looks like I have 2 hair cuts. She cut a shelf in the back of my hair. I will say that everyone was very nice and seemed to be having fun, which is great and a nice enviroment. If anyone has any suggestions, I want to know who s the absolute BEST in Austin. I want upscale, I am not into this vintage, artsy Austin vibe when it comes to my hair. Pros: Very nice staff Cons: my hair color and cut, the salon is really dirty and run down
