So my kids always enjoyed going to the Maritime Discovery Center, but there were never very many other visitors around. Nice for us, not crowded, no jostling—bad for the museum. So they cut back their hours to 11-3, Tuesday to Saturday. Not very convenient for us so we won’t be renewing our annual membership. So here’s the Catch-22: More hours=higher staffing costs. Less hours=less staffing costs and even less visitors, in my opinion. Oh ya, the exhibits are entertaining for kids and adults. A lot of hands on maritime industry stuff. Nuff said.
