We decided to partner with CMA because of the VMS technology and the convenience it offers. With this being said we have had a few concerns that continue to be a source of frustration. The survey function will not allow you to delete or hide old surveys that have votes associated with it, thus the surveys list is unnecessarily long confuses some residents. The other concern was the continued glitch and at this point I will say flaw, that prevents the system from bringing forward prepaid assessments for the current month’s assessment. As a result the Income/ Expense statements at the end of the month often reflects a significantly lower amount in income as a result in this flaw. At one point, this was corrected but the problem resurfaces each month. Another concern is the prepaid amount that is listed on the Balance Sheet is never correct, it has always been significantly higher than what it truly is. For example, this month’s balance sheet reflected $10, 000 more than what was truly prepaid by owners. Lastly, there is a “Pool Keys/Access Cards” line item, Account 3260 that is listed on the Income/ Expense Statement that was removed as we do not have a pool, but the account resurfaces every month and has numerical information associated with the line item dispite the fact that we do not have a pool so there are not funds to be accounted there. I cannot confirm whether there is a glitch in the system or if the “accounting” concerns are human error, but we were afforded the opportunity to speak with several persons in the accounting department who appeared to fix the issue, but as I said early, every month the discrepancy resurfaces and causes and unnecessary amount of confusion and frustration. With this being said, we have noticed the positive difference between CMA and our previous property management company and it has allowed the Board of Directors to function more efficiently. I believe that the start of the new year will allow both parties to better understand what is expected and to be able to continue to im
