A Proud Parent! 12/12/2011

Having grown up in Montessori schools myself, I looked long and hard to find a true Montessori where my daughter would be in an attentive, nurturing environment. We have been thrilled at how much personal attention and guidance she receives, not only in academics but social interactions and ""life skills"". Now several years later, we have just started our 2 year old son. Several months ago, the teachers and administration created an individual schedule for him to slowly integrate him into the school routine. Initially I would spend time with him and his teacher getting him used to coming to school. Over time we would expand his ""comfort level""-the whole process was enjoyable and seamless instead of the usual traumatic first weeks one fears (and expects) when your child first goes to school. The challenge as a parent is to find a school where your child is truly treated as an individual and I am very grateful to have found that. more

The Wroblewski Family 12/7/2011

Montessori Country Day School has been a perfect fit for our three year old son. Our son began attending MCDS when he was 22 months old, and from day one, we have felt that our son was in the right place. The Montessori curriculum and the small class size have proven to be a winning combination. Our son's curiosity is encouraged, and his learning goals have been outlined to fit his specific interests and needs. His teachers have always truly known him, and it is so comforting to see him eager for school and ready for the day. Every morning we are greeted by the familiar faces of the owners and staff, and this small gesture makes a big difference. It can be a difficult decision about where to send your child to his/her first school, but MCDS has proven to be the right school for our family. more

""It's a great day to learn something new!"" 11/3/2011

This school is what TRUE Montessori is all about! Montessori Country Day School provides an environment like no other. I am so impressed with the loyalty of the teachers and the extremely low teacher to children ratios. The children truly get the individual attention that is needed, as do the parents! Parents receive emails and updates from the teachers on how their child/ children are doing and how they can be more involved. The owners are so friendly and willing to be flexible in any way they can. You can not find that kind of attention ANYWHERE else. Trust me, I have looked! This private school has a wonderful Mommy Montessori Program, and they provide a twos program all the way up to fifth grade. They also have the best enrichment activities such as spanish, art, drama, yoga, sports, dance, music, and so much more! Anyone who would pass up the opportunity to visit this beautiful school would be passing up an opportunity for their child to have a brighter future. Pros: Teachers (average 7 years tenure), Curriculum, Enrichment activities, Owners, Environment, low student-teacher ratios, 99% of students reading above grade level, Individualized Academic Instruction, Flexibility, for all ages, amazing parent involvement, and a true closeness and friendship with staff as well as parents that is hard to come across! Cons: I wish this school didn't stop at fifth grade and they could continue through high school. more

Fantastic Foundation for Your Child's Educational Career 5/1/2007

We are currently in our 5th year at Montessori Country Day and are looking forward to our 6th. My daughter began in January of 2002 and my son has been there since August of 2005. We have been thrilled with the school since we discovered it and the recent changes in ownership have only deepened that respect. The new ownership has taken a great program and augmented it while staying true to the original intent and purpose of the school and the Montessori method.\r \r My children have made friends and had experiences that we would not have found elsewhere in our area. I feel that they have an excellent foundation to move on in their education, no matter where that may take them. The staff and families at MCDS are diverse and bring a world of educational experience to the school. Pros: location, atmosphere, program, staff, ownership Cons: building, cost, extracurricular activities more

Excellent Curriculum. Great environment. Wonderful Teachers. 3/13/2007

My daughter went to this school for 2 years and loved every minute of it! Her teachers were very caring. She was excited to get to school everyday and always proud to show me what she had learned that day! They taught my preschooler how to read and set her on a path to love books and learning. I can't thank them enough. Pros: Excellent Teachers more
