...Oh, never mind, I just spent it all at Swanson's. This is a good thing. This doesn't mean they are expensive, I just bought a lot of stuff. If you are a gardener in Seattle you know about Swanson's so I really don't need to sing their praises. The staff takes time to help you with all questions regardless of the amount of people in the store and they will stay with you until your questions are answered. Sure you can go to the big box places to buy plants and save a buck or two, but the difference in price is made up in the knowledge at Swanson's. At Home Depot of Fred Meyer you are lucky if you can find a person to talk to let alone answer questions.
I have never had a bad experience at Swanson's, even after I get the large Credit Card bill. Now if I could just remember to uses those damn Swanson's bucks!

Knowledge of Staff (5) = Excellent, when I can get help, they always know what they are talking about.
Inventory (5) = Well stocked always find what I need
Price = (3) Competitive in town ( plus, who competes with their comprehensive camera/supply inventory) but high compared to online retailers
like B&H ( where you don't pay tax and the base price is usually lower to begin with)
The reason for the low score? I am rarely treated well even if I can actually get someone to notice me standing there. I have been in numerous time on different days so I can't blame it on the busy day syndrome. Although the staff is very knowledgeable, their attitude and service is just terrible. I work in the photo industry and have many friends of various ages/ genders/ levels of profession who share similar stories of rude and disrespectful sales people. I have a friend who won't step foot in Glazer's opting for the longer drive to Kenmore Camera ( and I must say I was treated very well up there as well.)
However there are two sales people I have dealt with directly who are the exception to this review. If you do have to go in ask for:
Mark Vercammen
Lyle Rothenberg
They are both the shining stars in the muck of poor customer service.
I know I didn't offer specific instances but all of them are long winded and lead to this review. I still stop by Glazer for film, small items, and to look at new merchandise but prefer to shop with B&H Photo for most items. I don't mind paying extra to support the locals but Glazer's poor customer service on top of higher prices just doesn't sit well with me.

For the 45th and Stone Way location in Wallingmont...
I enjoy the food and the service has always been adequate, even on a very busy night. I have tried multiple pizza combinations and compared to it counterpart a few blocks away, a much better meal.
I just cant get over the noise and crowds. It is paralyzing, especially while straining to hear your dinner guest/s sitting three feet away. I think the atmosphere feels more like a shopping mall food court then a good neighborhood eatery. Unfortunately the food isn't enough to override the headaches.

... about leaving your car. Carl's does all of my normal servicing (oil changes/lube) and any repairs that may come up. He and his team even found a very inventive way to fix a broken mounting bracket for the exhaust pipe. This free fix saved me the coupe hundred dollars it would have cost to replace this piece.
In the past I used the 1hr lube places and I was constantly plagued by incomplete jobs, some times costing me more in repairs down the road, and pushy sales men trying to up-sale me on services that didn't need to be done. At Carl's I know the job is fair and complete when I pick up the car.
In the past I was always suspicious when I would take my car into a shop and they found "extra" work. When Carl's calls to let me know about the repairs that need to be done, I don't think twice about giving them the OK.
