The quality of medical care is very good and they're all very nice, gentle and caring.
I can't say enough good about them.

I have a 3rd party car alarm that was installed when we purchased the car in 98 in California. I needed service for it but my regular service center wouldn't handle it and instead referred me to Car Toys.
I called them to set up an appointment and told them who the maker was and that I needed service: was this something they could help with. They said sure, bring it on by. We worked out a date and time and I told them I'd have to drop it off (since, you know, I work during the day) at 8:30. Again, they said sure, bring it on by.
I get there at 8:30 (with my wife in our other vehicle since they don't do anything so helpful as a shuttle service). Closed. The sign says they open at 9. Nice job guys: way to waste 30 minutes in a busy week.
When they do open, I go to check in. The guy checking me in gets a puzzled look when I go over again what I told the guy on the phone. He proceeds to tell me that for 1/2 of labor they can look and see if it's something simple, but because they didn't install the system they most likely would only be able to pull the old one and install a new one.
Nice bait and switch guys. They had no intention of actually providing service to my old system (beyond maybe changing a battery if it were that simple, which it's not). They told me to come by with it knowing they couldn't service it so they could try to sell me a new one.
So, certainly don't go to this Car Toys and I'd steer clear of them entirely given how ethically challenged they are.

I was so excited when I got accepted to Oberlin in 1987. For over a year I thought about nothing other than going to Oberlin.
I spent 4 years there and there was good and bad to it, like anywhere. But overall, I thought it was a good experience.
And then, I went out into the real world. And I slowly realized that I had gaps. There were basic elements in my education that were missing and I had no real training or capabilities to function in the real world.
So, I spent 2 years at St. John's College in Annapolis MD filling in my education gaps. And, I spent a number of years learning how to get a job, build a career, handle taxes etc.
That's not necessarily unusual: many people coming out of college have the same problems with learning about real versus academic life.
But, it is a different thing when you've paid the kind of money you do for Oberlin then (and more especially now). You walk out into the real world with a lot of debt and that really does impact how you can get along when you really do being your life.
The really hard, grown-up question you have to ask is this: is an Oberlin education REALLY worth that cost when you can get an education at a solid state school for a fraction of the cost?
My answer is no. Especially since, the secret no one tells you is that once you're out of college, no one cares where you went: they just care that you went somewhere.
So, my recommendation: go to a good state school and save the mountains of debt you'll incur for something that really matters like a house.
If I had kids, I wouldn't send them to Oberlin (or any other school of its kind).

The staff is friendly, professional and very good.
Their emergency facilities are exceptional: they literally have brought two kittens back from the brink of death for us over 5 years.
I strongly encourage anyone looking for a vet to go here, and to keep their number for 24x7 emergency care handy.

It takes an exceptionally bad experience for you to still hate a restaurant 14 years after the experience.
I had that at the Wild Ginger. I aggressively encourage people to not go there.
My wife and I went to dinner before the Seattle Symphony back in 1992. We were pretty poor and that was our big splurge.
While we were ordering, our waiter asked us "What vegetable would you like with that?". We didn't realized the entrรฉes came with vegetables and my wife said very clearly and loudly "Oh, I didn't realize it came with vegetables". The waiter heard and said something to affirm our understanding that he was asking about vegetables with the entrรฉe.
We both ordered and when our orders came we had two entrรฉe sized plates of vegetables.
The bill came and sure enough, we were charged for entrรฉes AND two vegetables.
The bill took all of our available cash for the evening.
The waiter very clearly heard us and mislead us hoping to get a bigger tip. That is easily the sleaziest experience I have ever had. I told the manager about this who hemmed and hawed and offered to cut the vegetable cost from the bill but failed to understand the key point: his waiter lied and misled us.
Oh, and by the way, the food was singularly OK. Not worth the prices, even aside from the deceitful waitstaff.

We purchased two expensive leather study chairs and a large (and very expensive) china cabinet from them in January 2000.
After delivery was completed and we were putting the shelves in, we realized that the holes for the shelves were misdrilled on one side.
We contacted them and their first response was to offer to drill additional new holes! We told them no, we wanted it replaced.
It took 5 months for a replacement to come through with a lot of tense phone calls. By the end I was threatening to sue (and these were expensive enough that small claims isn't an option).
They brought the replacement and all was done.
Or so I thought: six months later the doors on the bottom expanded and warped to where you can't open or close them.
I was so fed up with them I never called. They are like this still today.
For the top dollar I paid: that was the sleaziest, worst service I've gotten in my life. I wouldn't use them if they were the only furniture store on the planet.
Addendum: As if this experience years ago weren't bad enough, I was just two weeks ago telemarketed by Continental Furniture to come to a furniture auction. Unwanted telemarketing calls are bad enough. But one would expect that given the clearly negative experience they would have the common sense to not put me on their calling list. It appears they lack that common sense or respect for the customer.
It was a 3rd party firm so I asked them to have a manager at Continental call me. They haven't bothered. So, I'm going ahead and noting this additional, unacceptable experience in the hopes that others learn from my mistake and avoid this company like the plague.

I've had Bel-Red electricians do work and been very happy with them.
You should get a membership in the Seattle Home Owners Club, though, and contract through them:

The scheduling was a bit of a pain and it took longer than I wanted. We also needed them to come out 3 or so times to make tweaks.
But, they did come out without a hassle and once the last of the tweaks were done we haven't had any problems.
I've had other contractors remark on the good quality of the work.
So, overall, I think they're a good choice.
My suggestion though is that you join the Home Owners Club and work through them. They're a referral service and so you get extra leverage that you can use to protect yourself.

We've used the Issaquah Petsmart for grooming for about 5 years.
We were really happy with them the first couple of years. Then they started getting turnover in the grooming department and the service became inconsistent. Some times they wouldn't put the bandanna on, others they wouldn't dry them, still others they wouldn't do their nails.
I finally got fed up last week. We brought our dogs and when we came in they said they needed vaccine certificates. This was never mentioned when we made the call. They claimed they called the day before which we figured out was 4 PM on a Saturday: no way you can get your documents from a vet then. They have the documents already on file and they're good: they could not explain to us why they needed yet another copy.
We've had issues with them and documents before, but this was the first time that the net of it was that they wouldn't groom them. So, we wasted an hour hauling our dogs to their shop for no reason.
At this point, I would recommend someone else. The people that work in back now seem to be looking for any excuse not to do their jobs.
