Southern Union is a good community college. They have both classroom classes and trade school classes. They have a really great nursing school that has a full medical facility complete with ambulance bay so that students can practice all aspects of nursing. The facility is in working order and is an emergency medical location for the area in case of national or natural disaster. The problem that I had with Southern Union is that their class schedule is very strange. The classes are scheduled only once a week for 2 hours and 40 minutes. It is very difficult to work and take classes because one class will take up half a day. The good thing is that, since implementing this new schedule, Souther Union is offering a lot more online, web-based and independent learning classes. It is a nice campus with most classes in a relatively new and updated facility. Parking can be a problem if you have a class during a popular time.
