We went to the Belle Plaine Country Store last fall to buy straw. It was $3.00 a bale, not too bad. They carry pet supplies, tack for horses, working wear, jewelry, gardening equipment, and garden decorations. They had beautiful tuned windchimes. That may not appeal to everyone, but I collect them. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We had the chance to visit with the resident dog, a gentle and affectionate black lab. I wish I could remember her name. Check out the jewelry case. They sell some gorgeous Sterling Silver jewelry and ask to see the catalog of belt buckles. I've never been a "showy buckle" kind of gal, but I actually want one now.
